WL season 3 finale tonight ... who's gonna bite the dust??

Didn't love the finale.....but the season as a whole was great. All the separate story lines were solid. No wasted characters. The slow burn build up was effective throughout. Acting was great. Parky Posey was so good. This is what dark comedy should be.

And if you guys don't know who writer/creator Mike White is.......

He's written a lot of stuff (including School of Rock). Created/wrote the SUPER underrated HBO show 'Enlightened' (which sadly only got two seasons) as well.

Brilliant second episode. May be the best thing Fielder's ever done. Guy is an artist and a madman.

MobLand is so freaking good. My only complaint is that the episodes are too short.
(MTV sure produces a lot of series.)

My wife liked Suits LA, which she just told me was cut. I enjoyed it too. Such is the life of a TV series.

I appear to be on a cold streak.

Watched "Anatomy of a Scandal" on Netflix last night, with Rupert Friend. Decent reviews, at least some actors that have some chops. In my opinion, it was not good. Like really not good at all. The "surprise twist" towards the end was just plain stupid, not believable at all, and while it had promise through a fair amount of it, to me it fell flat on its face wrapping things up. Not good

Not sure if any HBO folks stuck around to watch The Pitt.

To me, really good TV has three ingredients: very well done (production, acting, writing, etc.), entertaining, and an escape from everyday reality.


This show has the first in spades. Very well done, and they deserve awards.


But man, it is brutal to watch. Finished episode 8 (out of 15). Man. The little girl. If you know you know. I just don't think I can keep watching. That really sucked my will to finish the series. We know that the real world is a terrible place. I don't need to have it shoved in my face on my TV.

Anyone care to talk me into finishing it?

Just finished watching Adolescence on Netflix. It's only four episodes and it's emotionally brutal but incredibly well written, acted and directed. The kind of show that stays with you for a while.

On the lighter side, my wife and I have gotten into watching Korean dramas (really kind of soap operas). It's her fault. After the first episode of the first series I told her this was the dumbest thing I'd ever seen, I'm out. After the 14th episode I'm going, "She can't die! She can't die." The two we've watched are Crash Landing on You and Dr. Romantic. They actually are really well done, in a Korean kind of style. Obviously, the series have subtitles. My Korean is a little rusty.

The drama just gets more intense as the season goes on. Anything I say will spoil it for you, but there will be a payoff at the end.

Bold: guessing you've seen it already, but for some reason if you haven't Extraordinary Attorney Woo is quirky and very entertaining.
