All Things RB Jeffrey Jones Thread

At this point no news is good news. Bad news travels fast good news waits for the official transcript. Once the U has the paperwork, it can submit it to the NCAA Clearinghouse, we may or may not hear that the NCAA paperwork was submitted.

Goooooooooo Jeff! Might I suggest a major in youth studies if you make it, so we don't have to go through this every semester. It takes a toll on a fan base.

You really have a knack for saying some pretty inconsiderate, thoughtless b.s. in regards to people's personal matters. Try shutting your mouth on this topic for a while and perhaps take a break and a step back.

That worked out perfect for Ra'Shede. Struggle to qualify at Washburn, get a degree in youth studies and then become a second round pick.

Relax. It's a grade point average. Not cancer.

It's okay to say inconsiderate things about the SEC and their perceived intelligence, but not about our hometown child, I guess.

Chances are still slim of Jones getting qualified, so best to expect the worst and not get your hopes up. If he qualifies, it'll be like a nice surprise!

Good job on rooting for the pup.

I'm not gonna pretend I didn't chuckle at this lol, but for real though, chances are he would be a solid college student with a fresh start. His grades now are unlikely the issue, it's what he did before. When you're basically fighting uphill to dig out of a horrible year, it can be a grind. But at the same time, he's likely learning better study habits that he would apply to his collegiate studies now.

Just think, if Jones ends up at Iowa Western this thread will live for quite a while longer while we worry about whether or not he'll come here after 2 seasons of JUCO. For the sake of this thread ending it'd be nice if he qualifies this summer, among other reasons of course.

Can't help wondering how much different this thread would read if Jones was trying to get into WI or IA instead of the Gophers? I'll bet you'd have plenty of people on here complaining about "other schools" trying to sneak unqualified students into school.

But. But he went to Washburn.

You'd think that maybe from your higher plane of intellectualism, you'd understand that being a disrespectful windbag about anyone's "perceived intelligence" isn't an admirable trait.

Alright. I'll be sure to reference your motherly advice when I read a pot shot about the SEC on this board.

There will be a plethora next time we lose a recruit to an SEC school.

Yep. But its WI and IA.

This was all the way on page 2??? Where is "bump" guy when you need him?

the mods adjusted it so if i use the B word my post goes No-sho.

Because they add nothing to the conversation and are obnoxious. This thread is in no danger of getting buried and forgotten. As soon as someone has information, it will be posted. You typing "bump" isn't going to make information magically appear.

I just got my heart rate up for nothing thanks to you're guys's bumps. Thanks a lot.

That's right, these bumps are distracting us from threads with real news like "Norwood Teague says fundraising is right on track but gives no details as to what that means." Good thing I'm still capable of SCROLLING DOWN!

Not breaking news but at least something...

So the situation is that it appears that JJ has qualified subject to the Clearing House ruling on it. It'll comes
down too, if the summer school courses are acceptable, I think at this point it's a positive.

Based on what we know - as opposed to what we suspect - I don't think you can assume anything. The U may be trying an academic Hail Mary here - submit everything to the Clearinghouse and hope they rule in Jones' favor - even if his grades are borderline. It doesn't hurt anything to try, and either way, they know where they stand. In the past, we've seen the NCAA issue seemingly contradictory rulings on issues like transfers, so I wouldn't be surprised if the clearinghouse was equally arbitrary in its rulings.
