All Things RB Jeffrey Jones Thread

3. Wants to play in front of more than 4 people and actually win a few games here and there in the process.

Really? Iowa State fan and you're going to talk attendance and record? Stupid.

You average 53,000. That's not significantly more than MN at 48,000 average. Also, record all-time is not even close, and if you take a horizon longer than past two years it's not even close. ISU has never had a coach with a winning record. Just stop it.

Let's take a look at wins in the last 10 years and attendance for the last 8 years. I would have done 10 years for both but my source didn't have a team by team attendance breakdown for 2004 so I stopped after 2005.

Average Attendance Last 8 Years:
Iowa State- 48,791
Minnesota- 49,581

Wins In the Last 10 Years:
Iowa State- 49
Minnesota- 56

*Attendance taken from: http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/connect/public/NCAA/Resources/Stats/Football/Attendance/index.html

In conclusion, shut your hillbilly mouth you inbred *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# up.

Paul Rhodes is 24-27 as a head coach at ISU. The only time he won more than 6 games was when Gray handed them the Insight Bowl. If they win more games than the Gophers this year, I'll eat my goddam hat.

Reading this sure made me feel better about our chances. Good to hear!

I wonder if Kill cools on recruiting other RBs in an effort to display the loyalty of the coach toward a recruit.

I do not wonder that. About the time he does that, a blue chipper will kick him in the nuts.

Didn't Jones take back his commit and make it a soft verbal a few months ago? Now said he never wavered? I'm lost.

Well, he has committed to us. At first, it didn't appear like he was going to go on other visits or anything and then he seemed to change his mind on some of that. However, he never decommitted. He is still a MN commit (for whatever that's worth to some people).

He said he never thought about decommitting, that's another step from visiting other schools.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Being recruited by Tim Brewster to FSU, according to 247. I can only imagine the things he is whispering in Jeff's ear...

I'll state the obvious: Jones is pretty much gone.

Anyone who chooses to pay their own way to Tallahassee in order to earn an camp offer despite having offers from the home state school and half of the Big Ten is interested in something else.

Andrew Stelter went to Stanford for that reason I believe. We are still likely to get his commitment from what it sounds like (even though I am not sure they offered him or not).

Maybe he just wants to get his ranking up. Maybe he has family/friends there. Maybe his family went on vacation and did this along the way.

Maybe we don't know anything? :)

Stelter didn't get an offer from Stanford, his only other comparable offer is Iowa St., and he hasn't officially committed to a school. His situation is fairly different from that of Jones.

For a player with the pedigree of Jones, it should be embarrassing for him to have to earn an offer at FSU's camp. See Frank Ragnow for exhibit 1a.
