All Things P.J. Fleck Rumor Mill Thread - Listed as Candidate for Other Jobs

Pretty easy to do that when cash and other benefits are at the ready. Reggie Bush gave back his headman due to extra benefits and Pete left just before the NCAA hammer was coming down
Does anyone know what his headman is doing these days? Fluffers are all out of work these days...thanks Viagra.

They made a good AD hire and Fleck fits perfectly with their need.

Why is Danny White a good hire?

Honestly, whenever I see or hear UCF, all I can think is Scott Frost and the fake "National Title" they won there.

He hired Lance Leipold at Buffalo, Scott Frost at UCF, and Josh Heupel at UCF. All did well to very well in the job he hired them for.

also hired Alabama basketball coach at Buffalo.

From the article:

Danny White tried to hire Elliott at UCF when Scott Frost left for Nebraska sources told FootballScoop at the time.

Going to take a wild guess that's who he's going for. Let's see what happens ...

Don’t see PJ leaving for Tennessee but I’m wrong a lot

At Minnesota, he has a chance to build the program to where they’re consistently battling for top of the West, and once in a while win the B1G.

At Tennessee, he would have a chance to build the program to where they’re consistently battling to finish 3rd in their division, behind Florida and Georgia.

His call, I guess.

Tennessee is at the same point as Nebraska in my mind. People outside of the program have lost respect for them. But there fans still expect them to compete for titles.
This is why being a coach at either of these schools is extremely difficult. You either do what the fans expect you to do and win championships, or you lose and get fired quick.

I mean, couldn't a Tennessee fan say at Minnesota, he is constantly battling to also finish third in the division behind Iowa and Wisconsin who he hasn't beaten?

He has beaten Wisconsin. Both programs are fully capable of winning their side of the conference though. I think going to Tenn though would just be at best a parallel move as far as how they stack up in their conference vs where Minnesota is at in the B1G currently.

Absolutely, although it appears to me that Minnesota’s chances of overtaking Iowa and the skunks are probably better, and closer to fruition, than Tennessee’s chances of overtaking Florida and Georgia.

What would we do with all that RTB BS?

If TN steals fleck from us then we go get Payton Manning as head coach.

He did live here as a child, heard a piece of his heart has always remained here.

Minnesota = cold, hard to recruit to and get over the hump
Tennesee = not cold, 15th in talent ranking and 2021 recruiting ranking, might be a little hard to get the bag men going without Mickey D's as an option anymore but program might be more open to paying under the table than MN. Guessing he'd get a solid pay bump, too?

It's irrelevant that it's cold in Minnesota or "hard to recruit to" as those exact things can be said about every school in the B1G West. All PJ has to do is improve his standing in the B1G West and he can coach at Minnesota (and get raises) for years. At UT, he's got to beat Florida and Georgia which is a much tougher ask as both those schools are more successful and are located in two of the most talent rich states in the nation. The other points are valid
