Izzo saves the B1G from embarrassment. ACC fared no better.

There hasn’t been a lot of dramatic endings but a lot of these have been good back and forth games. Zaga-TCU is another good one.
I hate to say it but I think it's partially because of the transfer portal. I think there is more depth with these good teams and more experience.

ACC had fewer teams, and half of last year’s final four despite (again, I’m pretty sure) fewer teams then.

The B1G is, sadly, in an underachievement class of its own.

The B1G has as many Sweet 16 teams as the Ivy League, Mountain West, and Conference USA thanks to MSU.

Don't know if the data backs this up, but I always feel like I wouldn't be too surprised if Izzo's team wins any tourney game, no matter how low their seed, but for pretty much any other B1G team, I wouldn't be too surprised if they lose, no matter how high their seed (I guess I was a little surprised to see Purdue go down to a 16 seed, but wouldn't have been shocked if they went home in round 2).

Of all the Big Ten coaches, I think that guy wills his team to win in these situations. Also, they physically brutalize their opponents and challenge the officials to call it all.

Pretty amazing that they have gone to 25 straight NCAA tournaments. Izzo only missed the tournament in his first 2 years at MSU.

Can't remember the stat but his teams have some crazy good record in the second game of a tournament weekend when you just have the 1 day to prepare for your opponent.

Of all the coaches left in the Field, Izzo is the only one who's won it all.

Field feels extremely wide open. If Bama gets by SDSU they seem very likely to end up in the championship game given the bottom half of their bracket and the mess that is the East, but really no clear cut favorite to win it all in the current group.

A UConn-Alabama matchup could be fun.

Izzo annoys me but U can’t argue that he recruits/ coaches to his system and is successful. Always seems to have a true PG n a bunch of solid role players all of which are expected to play tough D and rebound. Overall, the Big teams looked slow and could not compete with superior athleticism and speed.

Love watching the tournament games and it's been great this year.

It's just a whole new level when the Gophs make it though. We gotta figure out a way to get in the tournament consistently. It doesn't have to be every year, but I'm gunning for 3 out of 4 years.

Nice. He has some performer in him, but it is clear he loves the game.

His Packer connection is a ding on his treasure status, though, I think. ;)
The Packers connection is what elevates him from national keepsake to national treasure.
