True, true maybe with your Golden Glasses you could search out and find a link to the box scores so we could see stats for Buggs or even better maybe Chris Monter will add an interview or two with Buggs...

Hargrave wins Fork Union Invitational -- link -- No new Buggs info...

-- cut and paste link at bottom --
The Hargrave PG Tigers improved to 16-0 and claimed the Fork Union Invitational with a 105-87 victory over Fork Union Military Academy. The Tigers faced a tough crowd, as the always present rowdy Fork Union cadet core was in full attendance. However, the Tiger's used its solid defense and well timed shooting to grind out the victory.

The Tigers had four players in double figures, led by Montrezl Harrell (Virginia Tech) with 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Ambrose Mosely hit a single game/season high of 7 three pointers and finished with 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Codi Miller-McIntyre (Wake Forest) finished with 14 points, 9 assists, and 4 steals. Ryan Taylor finished with 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists.

I just looked on the Hargrave Basketball website and saw that Charles Buggs isn't listed on their roster page. Has anybody else noticed this? I hope they just forgot to put his name on the page, I'm a little concerned as he isn't mentioned in any of their post-game write ups.

You were likely looking at the HS team, not the PG team.

"Charles Buggs, the other recruit signed by the Gophers this year, has sparked Hargrave Military Academy to an 18-0 record. He is averaging 17 points and 18 rebounds."

Go Gophers!!

There is no way that is even close to accurate. Why would they leave Buggs out of every game summary.

The Ellenson update is pretty good too..

Star Tribune said:
Wally Ellenson, the Gophers recruit from Rice Lake, Wis., who will be a freshman next season, scored 14 and 30 points in his team's recent victories over New Richmond and River Falls.

Those games were a couple of weeks ago... most recent two I've got him down for are 25 (Altoona) and 26 (Eau Claire North).

Can Chris Monter or Doogie or any other "journalist" that reads this board get the real scoop on this guy?

According to Sid...

...Charles Buggs is averaging 17 points and 18 rebounds per game. Ugh...Does anyone edit his articles? He also said "Moe" Walker could be ready for conference play.

Yeah, this definitely wasn't brought up in the "All Things Charles Buggs" thread. Really glad you felt the need to make a new thread about it, you little ball of sunshine.

I texted the coach tonight and he said Charles is averaging 17 points, eight rebounds and three steals. I'll call him tomorrow and see if I can get his game-by-game stats to try to track his true stats for this season.

Awesome. Thank you.

I spoke to A.W. Hamilton, his coach, and will post a story on him tomorrow.

Happy holidays all,

With how many points this team scores, I believe it that Buggs can average 17 points and not get mentioned.

He hasn't been mentioned once though in all of these game recaps. It's just kind of strange. You have to have had some monster games to average 18 points during an entire season. Did I miss the Monter article?

I just checked the Hargravesports site tonight and there are some more recaps of Hargrave wins (21-0 as of Jan 9), but still no mention of Charles Buggs. The same 3-4 kids are mentioned in every article with occasional appearances by others not named Charles Buggs. I am not sure it's something to be concerned about, but at the very least it is strange.

I wish Hargrave had box scores or something at least helpful.

I don't know what it is, but there is at least a minor detail that their coach is keeping from everyone. Either that or the people who write the recaps hate Charles Buggs and refuse to write about him. I'm leaning toward the former.

Buggs is at at Prep School. They play like JV teams for colleges. There isn't alot of defense played. Hard to judge a kid really.

Actually JuCo teams play JV teams for colleges; prep schools play other prep schools and prep schools don't play defense.
