All Things 2024 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

Man
Just frustrated by the situation.

It's a bummer with so much on the line and hanging by a thread but with Ober on the bump that they are forced to play shorthanded.
his spikes look like pontoons on his feet

If you believe Rocco, Lewis is off tonight so that they can get Miranda some at-bats. Don't want to take Santana out of the lineup because of his defense.

Ronny Henriquez blow it for the Twins. game tied at 4. Cleveland 90 feet from winning the game.

Twins lose 5-4. Please don't make the playoffs.

Good grief no lead is safe with this bullpen bullshit. Single, walk, single, single GAME OVER!

So tired of hearing heartbreak for the twins. They are professional athletes being paid hundreds of thousands and millions of dollars to perform. Right now a lot of them are not performing. The offense is providing the bare minimum night in and night out and the bullpen can just pick up the pieces every night.

I hope Carlos Correa ask for a trade to another team this offseason.

Go Vikings

Go Gophers

This team is hot garbage.

I cannot recall seeing a Twins team implode in September like this years squad. It's a perfect storm of both bad hitting and bad pitching.
In a few moments, Detroit will only be a half game behind the Twins.

I'm going to Ann Arbor next week for the Gopher v Michigan game on Saturday and then catching the Sunday game between Detroit and Chicago. At this rate the Twins will be in the rear view mirror.

Tigers win. Twins wild card lead down to half game over the Tigers.

At what point do we reach compete system failure. The ownership group decides not to spend money a year after having their best season in years. The front office failed to address key issues and have added so many broken players to the club, some of it caused by payroll limitations, that the pitching staff can not go an entire mlb season. The manager is not having a great year, especially in this latest collapse by putting players in the position to succeed. See Manny Margot being 0-29 but still the #1 pinch-hit candidate. Their best players, Buxton, Correa, Ryan, Kepler, Lewis are often hurt and missing large chunks of the season. This is of course maybe why they are a twin and not say a yankee. Players who have been injured to begin the year are no where to be heard of, see Brock Stewart and Chris Paddack. Players you were hoping would take a step forward have regressed see Duran, Lewis, Jeffers, Lopez (until the last 10 starts or so). Maybe it’s just the losing, but so much seems to be going wrong. It started in February and things are finally coming home to roost.

See ya in Fort Myers.

Don't have to go too far back. The 2022 season finished a lot like this one.

Maybe Royce Lewis can pick up the slack.

Oh wait, nevermind. He's not penciled in either.
I've never seen a Guardians game vs. the Twins that Jose Ramirez sits. The Twins have no one like that. Pathetic.

The Twins never trailed until the end, yet at no point did you ever really think they were going to win. Unbelievable.

Yep. Tied for first with 30 games left, we went 10-20 and finished 14 games out.
Collapse 2024 style (from Dam Hayes’ column regarding last night) -

A month ago, the Twins were riding high at 70-53, holding a 10 1/2-game lead over Detroit, which was four games under .500. Now, the Twins head into Thursday’s series finale a sliver in front of the Tigers, who are idle before opening a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday.
