The Vikings inability to run in the red zone is an issue. Darnold is for between the 20’s but the field is too small in the red zone.
 

Vikings getting a gift of points this drive. Have no idea is Tennessee was offsides on the sneak and that hit is clean.
 
















Atlanta Falcons are not a very good football team. getting run right out of Denver. Denver leading 38-6.

With Kirk Cousins at QB, and picking a defensive player in the 1st round instead of frickin' Penix, Arthur Smith would have absolutely had the Falcons better than 6-5 right now. Ridiculous to fire him but I'm sure Smith is happier in Pittsburgh, and he should get another shot at an HC gig before too long. What he's done this year with Fields and now Wilson is nothing short of miraculous.

Last week while the Vikes dominated the Jags throughout, because they couldn't get into the end zone even once, it was a struggle to actually win.

Against that same Jacksonville squad, Detroit scored 7 TDs and put up 52 on total points on the board.

2nd straight home game the Lions put up a 52 spot. Also did it against the Titans, 3 weeks ago.

Today the Vikings also dominated that same Tennessee, but again kept the score close.

Fortunately for fans of the Purple, style points don't really matter in the NFL Standings. They count as wins just the same and remain just 1 game back in the NFC North

I compared Goff to 4 time SB Winner Montana and not Darnold, so not sure why you compared his/Lions performance to Darnold/Vikings🤷‍♂️.

If you need to prove me wrong, here goes kiddo -

My reply post wasn't intended as a critique of your comparison of Goff/Montana but more about the comment about about your "hope" Detroit fans haven't bought Super Bowl tickets yet.

Nor was my post an attempt to "prove you wrong" about anything.

Just pointing out the Detroit Lions are really good. Could be great, even without their best defender. Their fans have every right to feel confident. It's 2 calendar years now, that they have been rather impressive.

Bookended around those 52 pt performances against a couple of AFC South dregs, Detroit has 2 impressive road wins against teams were in the Playoffs last year and are in contention this year.

DESPITE that, with the Vikings struggling to win, they are just 1 game back (plus trail the tiebreaker) currently.

The Eagles can also have something to say about the #1 Seed/Bye and ultimately the NFC Title.

Should the highest-paid WR in the NFL be expected to make his QB look good, no matter who the QB is?

Asked a different way: can a great WR make an entire offense look good?

Or, is a wide receiver — by the nature of the position he plays — somewhat limited in his ability to impact overall team offense? If so, it seems like a questionable decision to give a WR the really, really big bucks.

Yes, they are, unfortunately☹️. Loved Billy Sims & Barry versions, Campbell’s not my cup of tea. It would be amazing, if they won a SB and jumped the 49ers, who were seemingly positioned to win multiple SBs and now might have had their 🪟 closed already.

The Athletic did an analysis on JJ and how he impacts the offense: when he’s on the field and isn’t targeted vs. when he’s off the field - they found the offense is significantly better when he’s on (not targeted), due to the resources defenses have to allocate for him and how this opens up opportunities for other plays/players.

His value is also shown that he has the highest receiving yards per game average ever and has accumulated the most yardage of any WR in his first five seasons. He’s also beloved by his teammates.

The term 🦄 gets thrown around a lot, but he is one of one; based on his drive and determination, he’ll strive to supplant Rice as the 🐐.

NFL coaches continue to make crazy decisions. So the Bears got to the 30 yard line with the clock stopped and :35 seconds left. They ran the ball, picked up 2 yards and just let the clock tick down to :03 before taking a TO. Then had a FG blocked at 45 yards. I don't get it, they just moved down the field, you can't settle for long FGs in situations like that. I get you have a rookie QB but get him on the outside or something where has options to throw it away or run if the receivers aren't open.

JJ was a big reason why the middle of the field opened up so much on Addison's long TD.

First off, this thrilled me greatly, as I still have a hefty amount of cash coming in, at 35-1 odds, on the Bears losing all 6 NFC North division games! Step one, complete!

As far as the FG and the attempt, one of former GM Michael Lombardi's pet peeves is "makable FG range"; as in, just because you're within a 45-55 yard FG attempt, doesn't mean you've done your job. You should continue to try to get as close as possible, keep moving the ball forward. I totally agree. The Bears hosed this up miraculously.

The only thing I would add is I dis agree with those that say from 45-yds, you're kicking the ball at a lower trajectory. I don't agree with that. For any NFL kicker, you would only be doing that either into the wind (I don't know if that kick was?) or for like 55-yd and beyond. The Bears just botched the blocking, or the kicker inadvertently kicked it too low. I'd bet any amount of money he wasn't kicking it low due to the distance.
