All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

Terrible play calling by O'Connell. Darnold is obviously off, and our coach is trying to have him pass his way out of his funk. Which you can't do when you can't protect him. We need more screens or quick hitters to counter Detroit's pressure to help Darnold find himself.

Reichard stinks or is hurt still, and Darnold was clearly off all half. He's too jacked up. He left 2 or 3 touchdowns out on the field. The Vikings should be way out front.

Us older timers remember Carl Eller breaking a blackboard at halftime time of the ‘73 divisional playoff game against Washington—message: time for the bs to end after playoff defeats in ‘70 & 71:
Gilliam had dropped a touchdown pass and somebody had dropped an interception.

me yelling at the TV KICK THE FIELD GOAL! nope

Vikes are just beating themselves tonight. Lions arent doing much. The coach stinks tonight, the QB stinks, and the kicker kicked it OOB when he shouldnt have. Otherwise, they are “dominating”. This is one of the league’s best offenses that the Dis crushing. And the O is inept. In the red zone anyway.

Darnold may need to come up with a case of "cramps" and let gun slinger Muellens have a shot.

We’re averaging like 7-8 yards a carry and Darnold sucks tonight. Naturally we’re gonna keep throwing.

Vikings haven't looked like winning this game at all and are lucky to only be down one.

None of these plays have been remotely close to working but sure let's just keep going for it.
disagree, many have been there, assuming Darnold wasnt pissing down his own leg.

I see the refs DO know how to call intentional grounding…just not against the home team when they’d give up 2.

What is the yardage in this game. Down 9-10, feels like it should be about 24-7.

Sure there are guys open on some, but he's not seeing them. That's not going to change on 4th down.

yes, that was obvious since the first drive…we see it, how does OConnell not?

Detroit holds on D like they are Packers, Badgers, or Buckeyes. Few calls against them…without the holds one would argue the Vikes would have had a couple easy TDs. as I say that, Hockenson’s arm gets held down by the LB on 3rd down.
