All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

We’re not a great team, we’re a Good Team who plays GREAT in close games.

I’ll take that and 14-2🥳

Does Detroit rest there starters tomorrow night. There game vs the 49ers mean nothing now.

Agree. Best they have played since when?

We played niners before they had all the injuries so oline probly played well there? But this has to be oline's best game of the year. No doubt.
Now Washington needs to beat Atlanta tonight so Packers will have to play at Eagles for wild card wknd. 🙂

Darnold played so well. The interception notwithstanding, hard to imagine a QB playing that game any better.

If he keeps playing like this, his agent will be very happy indeed. 💲💲

Darnold, though, has to be so happy he doesn't have to go against Flores.
Flores had Love so discombobulated. Huge, huge credit to Flores for this win!

I assume his agent gets his % if the Vikings franchise him.

They seem to like him

I really don't know how you let a guy leave your building that is running YOUR offense at an elite level. I just don't see it.

And F*CK the new AP suggested rules/criteria on injury-related Comeback Player of the Year; how on God's green earth do you not vote Sam Darnold CPOY? And I'm not even saying that because I have a 30-1 bet on him to win the award.

Same with KOC; that has to all but seal the Coach of the Year award, regardless of what happens next week against Detroit (and yes, I also have a 30-1 bet on him for the award!)

My opinion is to "come back" from something, one would have needed to demonstrate prior success.

Just being at best mediocre doesn't seem worthy of Award recognition.

Darnold should set his sights on Offensive PoY, All Pro or MVP anyway.

They showed it on the postgame wrap up as well and as Bradshaw said, why would you want to leave that.
A few were also suggesting he should be willing to resign at a discount instead of just trying to get the most money. I think that’s a real possibility.

No way I would have thought the Vikes would be 14-2 with Darnold, a suspect IOL, and a bunch of free agents on D. But they have been a huge surprise. Now lets beat the Lions and see if we have the nads to beat the best in the NFL.

I think there's more than one aspect of the "sign at a discount" going in favor of the Vikings and what that number might be. Yes, I'm sure he would love to stay and play with the Vikings and this staff and team.

But also, don't forget that Sam has seen first hand just what it's like to be in a massively dysfunctional franchise; he's been in two of them already. And some of those teams looking for QBs are some seriously dysfunctional franchises. There's just zero chance he wants anything to do with that.

Depends on how many generations of Darnold's he wants to set up in terms of wealth.

Continued success can set him up for more money long term even if it’s less right now. He signs a 3-4 year deal for a crappy franchise, his options after the contract is up may be limited.

Sam's children would most certainly prefer the offer with the extra $40M over four (4) years.

Season Finale for the Vikings in Detroit will be on NBC/Prime Time next Sunday. 7:20 PM Kickoff.
