All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

Vikings -1.5 and to take us in the ML costs $120 to make $100 while it's even for Pack.

I admit I am not an expert but doesn't that mean a slight favorite for the Vikings to win? Basically a home field advantage worth (more or less)?
Yes, if it is -1.5 Vikes then Purple Daily is incorrect.

If you go to the Packers/Vikings Game and then "Details" > "Line Movement" you can track all the updates.

Yes. It is frustrating how year after year the Vikes fail to address that issue.
Next season will hopefully be the first time in 7 years that we won't have a huge QB for contract on the books. The iol needs to be addressed at that point. No more excuses!

I agree that the OL needs some help, but the take that they never address it is always funny to me.

Darrisaw - 1st rounder, got injured, then traded for a previous 2nd rounder in Cam Robinson
Cleveland - until early last year, was a 2nd round pick, dumped him and signed Risner 2 years in a row, who was also a previous 2nd round pick. Brandel has worked his way in and was a 6th round pick.
Bradbury - 1st round pick
Ingram - 2nd round pick, now replaced by Risner
O'Neill - 2nd round pick

Some of these guys are not as good as we hoped, but it certainly wasn't due to not addressing and spending high draft picks on the OL.

Agree. By addressing I meant that we need to solve our interior offensive line weakness.

The Packers, on the other hand, have a very good oline. Packers are the only team that has started homegrown olinemen at every position for every game this season.

Jenkins - 4th round
Walker - 7th round
Toms - 4th round
Rhyan - 3rd round
Myers -2nd round

No first rounders. Yet they are better than our stable of 1st and 2nd rounders.
Packers have the magic sauce for drafting and developing olinemen.

Better than Darisaw and O’Neill🤔

FWIW - I’ve heard more than analysts say this year that those two are one of the best tackle combos in the league.

Darisaw is regularly lauded as one of the best LT in the game.

O’Neill has gotten a ton of compliments this year for his stellar play and it won’t be surprising to me if he’s a Pro Bowler again this season, as he was in 2021.

I will put Darrisaw and O'Neill up against any teams' tackles and feel great about it. Interior oline is and has been our issue for too many years of course. We use high draft picks on center/guard with no luck (Kenny Clark will line up about 2 inches from Bradbury's nose all day 😬) and we haven't had cap space to bring in capable players through free agency.
Packers, on the other hand, seem to always find a way. Huge ups to their drafting and developing in that area. Frustrating.

Vikes definitely healthier of the two teams .

Alexander and Williams both out tomorrow and Bullard questionable.
So GB secondary will not be a strength.

GB will see our oline as a weakness and look to take advantage. We can return the favor and attack their depleted secondary.

Quay Walker also out tomorrow. Christian Watson questionable.

If they improve just 2 of the 3 Interior OL positions this offseason (and Darrisaw comes back healthy), this offense is going to be scary good. Problem is, everyone needs OL help. We'll see what happens

Bronco calling two pass plays and stopping the clock for Joe/Jamar should be an automatic L.

Sean Payton is a moron for not going for two. They had not forced one punt all day, but sure let's figure on stopping Joe Burrow in OT. When will teams trailing on the road learn to take the 50/50 shot?

PFF's Sam Monson on keys to the game:
1). Performance of viking interior oline.
2). How Pack handles our receivers.
3). Turnovers.

Our defense. Wow. I went into this game thinking we'd probly need to score 30+.

B Flo with some mastery thus far.

Score with this second half kickoff and put them on their heels.

I’m smelling a couple more takeaways in the second half half😃
