All Things 2024-25 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

Wow, it’s really tough to watch the NBA.

They ruin every star. SGA is no longer fun to watch. Can’t breathe near him without a foul called. Gonna run out of teams that have tolerable officiating.
The NBA seems to believe they need to manufacture their superstars rather than let them develop organically.

The Free Throw Merchant is so perfect.

The Free Throw Merchant is so perfect.
I can’t blame him for playing by the rules. Imagine how amazing SGA would be if he wasn’t encouraged to initiate contact; instead having to find space and move around with that freakish quickness and agility.

It’d be awesome.

Or conversely thw power game of Embid.

I can’t blame still watch SGA. Embid or Tatum, those guys are literally ruined for me.

The NBA tells us its to protect owner’s investments. Then these guys are out just as much. Basketball is a rough game, there is a reason they are compensated so handsomely. Let em play Silver.

Scoring is off the charts. They claim that’s for fans. However, the last time the league was like this (1960s and into 70s) they changed the rules. Only then, did the NBA become super lucrative. It was popularized when the game was tough. More truly amazing plays and - bitter rivalries.

Strict rule enforcement for everyone, on the screens, dribbbling, etc, encourages the best, most athletic plays, tough defense, and the insane passes.

3 times last night, Ant got hammered going to the basket and no call.

3 times, SGA went to the basket and you couldn't find the foul with a search light. It is what it is.

When Clark went down, the wolves were up, I believe.

Finch didn't think they could now handle SGA.......so they gave him the Edwards treatment and ran people at him. What was the one difference though.........OKC buried 3 after 3 after 3........we don't make teams pay at all for doing that to ANT

SGA is allowed to use his forearm and shoulder with impunity when he goes to the hoop. He gets every phantom call. Edwards gets beat up and doesn't get the calls. They are both elite players. What's the difference? Edwards went to the KAT school of referee relations. The refs say to themselves "If he's gonna fuck with us, we'll fuck with him." It's human nature. SGA is pretty polite, so he gets the benefit of the doubt.

Clark's injury was highly impactful. That was nasty. I don't think we'll see him for a while.

Caruso hitting those three 3's killed us. He couldn't make a basket for the majority of the game. We need Rudy back big time.

I don't think SGA is a manufactured star. I think he's a player who elevated his game and took advantage of being traded to a team where he took the opportunity to be "the guy" and now gets superstar calls because he earned that place.

What do you do to earn superstar calls?

Every time we play them, there are several phantom.

I'd wager that there are fans across the league that see fouls called on their team against Ant that are questionable.

They see way more where he gets hammered and nothing is called.

That's the whole point.

The nicest way I can describe the Wolves post All Star break is as a steaming pile of pig shit.

Here come the Timberwolves. OKC down to 3. what a comeback.

Wow down 22 to start the 4th and we now have a tied game at 121.

16 straight points to tie the game....with Ant out. Wow.

The block of the season by Anthony Edwards.

WOW. Ant blocks SGA at the bucket. Wolves ball with the lead and 10 seconds to go.

Ballgame. Timberwolces comeback and beat Oklahoma City Thunder. what a comeback.

Hell of a win. Largest comeback win in team history!?
