All Things 2024-25 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

The best part of this win was seeing Dillingham play well and orchestrating them in the 4th quarter.

I just don't know what to make of him. He is the key moving forward into the future.

He can get to any spot and break anyone down.

After they turned it over a few times in the 2nd quarter said to myself, “Well, this is gonna be a long night. Get a good night’s sleep and get rid of that cold.”
Missed that great comeback.

He's a 20 year old rookie with a ton of talent. It takes a few years to become consistent.

I don't think SGA is a manufactured star. I think he's a player who elevated his game and took advantage of being traded to a team where he took the opportunity to be "the guy" and now gets superstar calls because he earned that place.

SGA is a really good player, but he constantly flops.

When SGA tried to tie it with a last second 3 in OT last night, he couldn't even do that straight up. He tried to foul bait as he shot it. That style of play will always keep him from being a true superstar to me.

I have a tendency to get frustrated and watch something else. I did it last year against Denver when they had to have that big second half comeback, but I always peek in at the score, just in case. Flipped back over right as OKC was challenging that blocking foul on Caruso. Hell of a ride from there on out.

I was actually thinking this last night. He is such a skilled player, he is one of my favorite players to watch but that flopping is just unbearable.

One positive thing I've noticed with SGA is that he rarely complains about calls. He doesn't clap or scream. Ant could learn a thing or two.

I get that, but he just seems like he's going to be all or nothing.
Dillingham is tracking as Finch predicted at the beginning of the year. Finch said in an interview that he expected Dillingham to play well in about one out of every three games. Last night he didn't shoot well but he avoided mistakes and his +/- was excellent. Finch is only playing him when he has to. (Conley is doing zilch and DDV is out.) Hopefully, he'll improve.

The last 2 games have been specular to watch.

I didn't realize how much taller Jaden is than ANT, during their postgame interview.

What would SGA possibly complain about?
Not complaining, regardless of number of calls, is always the exception in the NBA. It's obnoxious.

If they made the fine for a tech $250K, the players would STFU. Even the ones on max contracts. Another option would be fining every player the team $50K when a player gets a tech.

The Los Angeles Lakers are a bunch of cry babies. They are whining about every foul call again them.

The biggest crybaby on the court wears #5 for the Wolves, picked up 2 techs, got ejected, threw the ball into the stands and is now in line for a suspension.

Well, I hear we want to build around Ant, McDaniels, and Naz

All three were f------g trash tonight. Crazy bad!

I don't know.

When these three were on the court against OKC, they were blown out when they were out there and then brutal again tonight.

We tend to overrate our players.

Couldn't shoot open 3's again to save their ass yet again.

Are we going to be a one and done team?

46 free throws of course for the Lakers. Damn, that's a monster number.

Jim Pete has been talking about it every game leading up to this, saying Edwards has to settle down and be aware that he was getting close to a suspension. Your behavior is going to cost your team. You can only say "Well, he's 20-something" as an excuse for so long. That time has passed. Grow the hell up. Fair or not, he's given himself a reputation and the refs aren't going to put up with him constantly running his mouth.

I'd also love an explanation from DirecTV Stream about why the hell the game wasn't available last night. Blacked out on NBA TV, the Fanduel channels were showing the Wild on one channel and some generic sports programming on another. Had to download their stupid app and watch it that way.

He is such a child.

Someone needs to get through to Ant quickly. I thought Monday night would have been a wake up call for him, but apparently it wasn’t. Some of this is on Finch, and some of it is on the team not having a true leader, like Slo Mo was the last 2 seasons.
