All Things 2024-25 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

Ant was 10 of 33 with launched three after launched when he couldn't buy one.

It was 99-98, Milwaukee, and he launched a ridiculous 3 that clanked. It's just unreal, like watching a broken record.

I love the wolves, but sometimes I hate them.

Dilly has been unplayable lately. Clark of 0 for the night and just missed one layup after the next. McDaniels is reverting back to McDaniels.

NAW.........blah

Just another disgusting loss. Just putrid.

I hate how obvious it is when an Ant awful shooting game is coming

But I can live with 10/33 type games being obvious if he wasn't the least clutch player I've ever seen. He's so bad when it matters

Hell, a couple games ago when we tried to force feed him 50 pts he went like 0/7 with 3 Tos down the stretch ha.

He's gotta develop the gene and fast.

all true, but damn.................when Ant is off can anyone and I mean anyone step up. McDaniels and NAW were bad tonight. The bench was quite bad.

Clark and Dilly were a combined 1 for 12

We just have no one who can pick up the slack if Ant is struggling.

Things you can count on. Ant will fail at the end of games.

Last night’s game was a mess. Players were just tossing the ball at the basket, forcing awkward layups in heavy traffic with poor body positioning. They’d attempt a Euro step, look at the hoop too late—sometimes after releasing the ball—then turn away to defend, leaving no chance for a rebound. There was little effort to set up plays, and skill was mostly absent. They tanked this game. For most of it, the team's performance was dismal, with only brief moments where they seemed to actually try to win.

I like Finch. He's a decent coach and seems like a great dude but he has completely lost this team from top to bottom. I'm not saying we should fire the guy, but:

1. We play down to our competition and this has been going on since he was hired. Our record against sub .500 teams the last three (3) years is nauseating.

2. He has very few structured offensive sets and Rudy's elite strength as a screen setter is often ignored. The guy literally can't do another single thing on the offensive end.

3. Makes Ben Johnson look like John Wooden when it comes to drawing up plays coming out of TO's.

4. Allows other teams to extend runs before calling a TO way too late.

5. Staying with guys having off nights rather than looking for a spark off the bench, especially guys that will at least bring some energy.

It's hard to explain, but we have a lot of local coaches that have no concept of making in-game adjustments. And Finch doesn't have the luxury like Rocco of having a Manny Margot to come in and save the day.

To add on... Finchy trusts his players too much. They are a pretty low BBIQ team and he doesn't do anything to try and help with that IMO.

Current NBA MVP Vegas Odds

SGA -700
Jokic +400
Giannis 100-1
Tatum 200-1
Wemby 200-1
KAT 250-1
Ant 250-1
Brunson 250-1

Having two (2) of these guys on your favorite team is something only fans can dream about.

All of this is true, but I still think a lot of it boils down to not having enough scorers. We just don't have enough players who can break you down.

Our offense just struggles.

It's very difficult to win when you don't have a Top 12 PG in the league that can initiate the offense and create for himself.

You're 100% correct on the lack of scorers. Even with Randle and DDV healthy, this was still a problem.

I think DDV showed he can do the job better than Mike and Dilly. Need him back asap.

I love Ant. He’s a true superstar in the making that can lead a franchise. But it was mind boggling when I got push back on his clutch. It was blind negligence by one poster.

Sadly tho, it’s just facts. He’s not just bad. Or bad for a star.

He’s historically awful when needed the most. And it’s gotta chance for the ultimate goals to be achieved

Last game before the break against a defensive juggernaut and the squad is backpedalling. I expect a disaster tonight and will be happy to be wrong.

I was just going to share this. Ant is one of the worst clutch players in the league. That is a fact. Partly on him but partly on Finch. No play ever drawn up ..ever. Just launch a contested shot with a player with no clutch bones in his body.

Need to really step it up tonight. My only hope is they were looking past the Bucks and thinking of the Thunder.

Conley and Rudy are both out. Team probably should have been better earlier in the year when they were all healthy.

SGA, Williams and Chet...yet the guy that might really eat tonight is Hartenstein with Rudy out.

Take better shots. Good grief. 5 for 25 from three.
(Yes, I know they are winning, but that won't hold if they keep this up)

Wire to Wire win over OKC. never trail in this game.
