All Things 2024-25 College Basketball Other Games Thread

Iowa fans seem to think Fran is either having health issues or is on his way out. Neither way seems disengaged.
Eventually, having a coronary every time a foul is called against your team, or isn't called against your opponent, has to have some long term health effects, one would presume.

I know you're the resident Illini guy - that's a great team when everyone's available. But I want to bash the Hoosiers here.

Ok, so they're missing Reneau - that still leaves them with a monster in the middle (Ballo) who they ought to be able to exploit in the paint against just about everybody. Ah, but you have Mike Woodson calling the shots - Ben Johnson might be is a better coach than him.

Looking at the stats, Indiana took 31 of their 47 twos from midrange (only 18 3FGAs, too). That is unfathomable in the age of analytics - I mean, everybody knows this is a losing strategy, right? Even Ballo took 5 of his 11 shots from midrange. WTF, Woodson? My head would explode if I were a Hoosier fan.
Isn't Woodson 6-0 against Ben Johnson?

Would you take him as the Gophers' coach?

Indiana's talent is (and will probably always be) superior to vastly superior to Minnesota. I could coach Indiana to 6-0 against Minnesota.

Feels like March madness this morning.

Alabama vs Kentucky
Houston in a close game vs UCF
Creighton looking to upset UConn (and massive whiner Danny Hurley) at UConn

It really isn't they oddly have mediocre guard play most years, but I would rather have their last four years than ours

Miami (OH) is about to be 13-4(5-0) in the MAC. They shoot a ton of 3s and play a fun style

St. Thomas struggles with last-place Denver, but pulls away late for a 74-62 win.

Tommies and Omaha (both 5-0) meet for the Summit League lead Thursday night in Omaha. The Mavericks gave the Gophers all they could handle (68-64) earlier this season.

Michigan is now losing to Northwestern at half time. I must conclude that Kayden Betts put on a show in pregame shoot around on Thursday and broke their confidence.

Ghost of Brad Davison shows up as Northwestern guy gets ejected for a knee to the jewels on a Michigan player. Didn’t look intentional but they said “by rule.” Must be the Davison rule.

Izzo fouls up 3 with under 5 seconds left. Michigan State wins. What a crazy idea!
Also got the home court bump as Illinois star Jakucionis only played 9 minutes due to foul trouble. The Izzo factor. Illinois is a totally different team without him. Still only lost by 2. Look forward to MSU coming to Champaign.

Yeah, huge that KJ only played 9 minutes. That was a huge advantage for MSU.

Big deal, even I’m 2-0 against Ben Johnson.
Funny thing is Ben has winning records against Michigan and Rutgers. 3-2 vs Michigan, 3-1 vs Rutgers, 3-3 vs Penn State, 2-2 vs NW. 2-3 against the Buckeyes and 3-42 against the remaining seven teams in the league that he's faced. Still haven't played any new West coast teams yet.

Dan Hurley to a ref: “Don’t turn your back on me. I’m the best coach in f*cking sport
