All Things 2023 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

The handling of Lopez tonight vs Gray the other night is very interesting. Lopez is out there with 2 on and 1 out with 100 pitches in the 6th. Gray came out at 4 innings and 79 pitches. Gray has a 2.37 era and Lopez has a 4.20 era.

Just think it’s interesting.

Big spot for Moran here.

Lots of two strike hits for the Red Sox tonight. The twins inability to strike out guys has been an issue tonight.

LMAO immediately give all 3 runs back.

Lopez sucks. Moran is fucking trash. Please fucking fire the whole front office.

It doesnt take a braniac to know that JOvani Moran and his zero control simply cannot be your ony lefty.

Hold on. Did a good left handed hitter just put the Red Sox ahead by getting a hit off a bad left-handed pitcher?
But, but, but it's a bad match-up for the hitter.

Came up from Rochester for first trip to Target Field this year. Score not surprising but still a good night as went to Portillos and a beautiful night at a beautiful park.

It time to blow this team up and start over. Let see if we can get something for Correa. Yes he need to be traded at the deadline. The Twins need to be in sell mode not buyers.

You can't walk Rob freaking Refsneider to load the bases. Just embarrassing. Then we burn Griffin Jax to pitch the top of the 9th in a 9-3 game. Fire Rocco yesterday.

You can't get anything for Correa with that contract. The only players with significant trade value are Joe Ryan, Ober, Duran, Lewis and Kiriloff. The only expiring contract with value is Sonny Gray. That's it. There's nothing to blow up or sell.

Fire Falvey and Rocco. Release Kepler, Gallo and Pagan. DL Buxton until he's capable of playing CF. Bring up Wallner, Larnach, Miranda and Maeda. See if Thad and Toby can put the train back on the track. If not, a completely new front office/manager next year.

Buck Showalter should be available at the latest after the regular season concludes😉

Here is the boxscore from last night

Go line by line.......compare their leadoff hitters average to ours.

Compare there second hitter's average to our second hitter

Compare the third hitters, then fourth hitters average

It's all you need to know or see!

Top two OBP in MLB:
1. Luis Arraez
2. Lamonte Wade
I'll be honest, I figured Arraez would cool off a bit by now because he usually does but so far he just keeps hitting.

Hitters leave and get better. Hitters come to the team and get worse. Has to tell you something.

CES will be the replacement.

$6million in 2023 with $1.5milliion for a mitual payout in 2024. Reds are eating that whole contract, would be nice to see the twins do the same thing with Kepler.

Because I'm a nerd, dug into some batting stats.

Correa, Kiriloff, Larnach, Farmer, Solano, Vazqez, Taylor and Kepler are all above the league average in percentage of strikes looking. Meaning they get strikes called on them higher than average. Not surprising but I believe this is a huge issue. We get put into bad counts way too much.

I did find out the Twins are 2nd in the Majors in strikeouts looking. So they're 1st in swinging and 2nd in looking. No other team is in the top 6 of both.

Oh, and they have a .656 OPS in the month of June. They've gotten worse every month. Puke.

Well, at least we dont have to worry about calling up Garlick anymore just because hes a righty

Rocco would probably love him as another option to PH for Kiriloff.
