The White Sox defense…

giphy.gif
It might be worse than the Vikings defense

Anyone know why they're playing a day game today? Really weird.
Finally get to watch, not because my subscription is fixed, but rather its the MLB free game of the day - they tend to make them day games when possible - so I’m happy.

Nice to “see” the Sox still can’t catch the damn ball - should be us and the Guards again!

That Sox defense is woooooooooof.

Really good AB's against Cease today too. Its gonna be rare that teams knock him around so best you can do is get him out of game ASAP with high pitch count. Bad D helped, but we did that.

Now lets win a game against their pen.

Generally the weather sucks in Minneapolis this time of year. I actually questioned more when I first saw the schedule, why are they playing a night game tomorrow? Turns out it's going to be awesome weather fortunately.

There's also an odd day game scheduled for Friday, April 28 (3:10) vs the Royals.

If it’s simply because of weather, 3:10 makes more sense IMO. People can still work 1/2 a day.

I wonder if they thought a lot of schools would be closed today because of Easter?

Maybe on the Easter Monday thing.

3:10 is brutal in terms of shadows this time of year. For non-Opening Day in terms of in game attendance, really does not move the needle much regardless of what time the game is. We'll see how it plays out, for tomorrow's game at night, I will be shocked if there is much difference.

2-3k tops?

Baldumbass has got to go. Seriously this guy is so fucking lost.

Pinch hits Buxton for Wallner knowing full well if we get a guy on base that means Taylor hits.

You save Buxton for that spot. Nope, instead game on the line and Michal A Taylor faces Reynaldo Lopez. Hes in over his head and has been for years.

Taylor now hitting .171 with 14 Ks and ZERO walks.

Wait, Gallo is available to hit in the 9th??

So we didnt have him hit for Taylor.......why?

Shout out to the Twins fans counting down the pitch clock for Chicago. Really helped them out.

Seriously, be 2 seconds behind if you’re going to do that.

Feels like it would be equally distracting to the batter, so I was really befuddled as to what the purpose is of the countdown.

Didn't get much attention, but Farmer got hit in the hand with the bases loaded. They should have challenged that. Rocco is so conservative with his challenges.

Morneau mentioned that. I get that it's still a bit of a novelty to have the pitch clock, but if you're going to do that, mess with the count, make it off. Or better yet, shut up.

It was a weird reaction by him though. Usually if guys get hit, they start their way to 1st base. He didn't but then motioned that it hit him. I couldn't tell by the replay so not sure it would have been overturned.

It was 50/50. But in that spot against that pitcher, you have to challenge it.

Still no Gallo or Correa in the lineup tonight. Still no roster move. Sigh.

This team is so horribly run. Just keep having injured players sit out with no depth moves.

We currently have to keep batting Solano and Farmer in key spots in the order as righties when they are lefty hitting specialists because we have like no other options. And I am not knocking these guys. Its not their fault. But Solano should never have to bat 1st or 3rd against a righty. If he does, management has failed their only job.....roster management.

One of our only left handed options is Nick Gordon who is god fucking awful and we bat him FOURTH or FIFTH nightly. Like jesus, at least swap him and Wallner you damn buffoon.

You guys are leaving Willi Castro out of the nightly bomba squad

I believe they can still retroactive IL Gallo to the 8th. They're probably being overly cautious because that's what they do now but it's a little ridiculous that he was available to pinch hit yesterday but over 24 hours later still can't play.

The Mighty Mussels might have a superior lineup tonight...

It's a calculated gamble - albeit one that the Twins often wind up missing.

If a player is truly only going to be out 1 or 2 games, then you don't want to put him on the 10-day IL and have him unavailable for an extra week. granted, when you have several of those happen at the same time, that's what puts a strain on the roster.

and, when you look at possible moves - there aren't a lot of options right now with the 40-man roster. Julien is the only available player on the 40-man roster who is not on the IL or already on the major-league roster.

the IL list:
10-game: Polanco, Kepler, Kirilloff, Celestino
60-game: Royce Lewis (does not count against the 40-man roster)

so, if the Twins put Gallo on the 10-day IL, they would either have to bring up Julien or drop someone from the 40-man roster. (I would boot Celestino in a minute, but it's not my choice)

Twins injury management in a nutshell. 50 minutes between being in a “good” place to the IL.

Michael Salazar, the fired trainer from 2022, must be laughing out loud. You people all thought it was my fault. Yet they have played 12 games of a 162 game season and are already inundated with injuries, some that have not healed since 2022.

they basically have 3 options, as I see it:
call up Julien
call up Polanco early from his rehab
call up another minor-leaguer and take someone off the 40-man roster - or move someone from the 10-day IL to the 60-day IL.

some days ya just don't know whether to sh*t or go blind.....

Julien was pulled from the saints game so he is going to play tonight for the twins. That is as long as he stays off light rail. If he takes light rail he won’t make it in time.

Dr Nick Papa Rest was going to fix all this. Perhaps the incompetence starts at the top, eh Falvey?

Thats a long light rail from Indianapolis.

Teleporter was his only chance to play in this game. Elon and Bezos havent got us to that point yet

Wow

Lance Lynn giving up tanks to Michael A Taylor?? Thats gotta be a sign to hang em up

I’m happy it’s happening but it doesn’t make sense now why he wasn’t called up earlier. Or Polanco is somehow still not ready?
