HAHAHA it continues

ONce again, brilliant move having Kyle Farmer as our clean up hitter. Why is he rostered?? Like get youth up here. Play Julien. Employ Wallner.

Incorrect. Anytime something good happens I say it.

Youre just too stupid and/or ignorant to realize that a lot of bad happens inbetween it.

You are too mentally frail to be on message boards. Where again, the literal point is to discuss good and bad.
Haha. Okay buddy. You telling anybody what the "literal point" of anything is comical. You don't discuss anything baseball, you bitch about it. There's a difference. As Ope said, your name calling and overall acting foolish adds nothing to any of this board. Sorry to all other readers for the continued back and forth, I'll stop.

Incorrect. Everything I post is discussing our baseball team. Its just not open ended because everything I post is objective and can be supported by numerous stats and numbers. Again, dont get mad at me because you cannot mentally hack it. There are specialists for that.

1st and 2nd no outs. Twins leave them both again.

Another interesting DISCUSSION on the team. And our ineptitude.

So Rocco, the King of match ups and pulling guys in the 2nd inning due to them.

Lets Solano hit with the righty coming in and doesnt use Julien???

Overall solid start for Maeda.

Difference so far is good offense vs bad offense.

Braves have had the lead off man on 3 times. Scored him twice.

Twins have had the lead off man on 2 times. Both times a guy on 2nd no outs. 0 runs.

Good start for Maeda. I thought he would get rocked. If this offense could do anything at all..

Yes, as I posted earlier statistically our pitching is slightly better than Atlanta. Difference is hitting.

Twins 0 for 22 in the series with risp. How is that even possible.

3 lead off men on. 0 runs.

Letting Vazquez bat in the 7th is more mental logic

Ignore button is a friend.

A winning steak of sorts helps dampen vitriol as well.

Putrid.

Batting Farmer clean up worked as most expected.....it didnt.

I think it’s safe to say the offense needs an adjustment. Not sure how you do that in baseball, but something has to change cause they are wasting the best pitching in my lifetime.

When you can't hit, you can't hit.

The pretty simple first step is to move on from the hitting coach. That is where you have to start. Might not be the root of the problem, but the coach of part of the team that is not performing to even the worst of anybody's expectations has to go. Philosophy of the hitting department has to change. The constant pinch hitting and such to play the numbers game doesn't seem to be working. You're not allowing anyone to get into a groove, if they even can in the first place with how they're being micromanaged.

just for fun I did some math.

Twins have played 62 full seasons in MN.
31 seasons at .500 or better
31 seasons with records below .500

so far this year, Twins at .494 winning %. Also finished .494 in 1989 (80-82).

So - if the season ended today, the Twins would be tied for the 32nd best season in Twins history - with 30 seasons worse than this year.

I am NOT saying that is cause for joy. But it ain't the end of the world, either.

speaking of that end of things - Twins have had 6 seasons with a winning % below .400.
worst all-time - 2016 with a 59-103 record for a .364 winning %. that was seven years ago. I remember that season.

as frustrating as this season has been, I'll take it over a 100-loss season any day.

Reusse pointed out they have scored 2 or fewer runs now in 37 of 82 games.

Uffda.

Just making contact would be a vast improvement. They are on pace to break the Major League record for strikeouts in a season.

Uffda.
I don't think that number is right. I count 31. Which is still really bad though. The really bizarre thing is they have scored exactly 5 runs only 4 times this year. They've scored 11+ runs also 4 times. Feast or famine.

They're getting themselves into bad counts because they're missing and/or watching meatballs. They're first in swinging strikeouts and second in looking strikeouts. Just a very quick look shows that multiple veterans are having the worst or second worst SO % of their careers. It's an approach. It has to be.

Mic drop.

And certainly it is baseball and anything is possible. Just not much evidence to support the idea we can go on a run. Best hope is we can stabilize around .500 and take advantage of a putrid division. We'll see.

We have 10 or so games left against kc and Oakland, would be really nice if we could take advantage of those.
