All Things 2023 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

Way the twins are going don't follow the schedule as closely as otherwise. Thought the twins played tonight so just saw the score.

Three homers between Correa and Buxton. Couple hits for Lewis. Ryan untouchable. Back to .500. Nice. Should give the team something to feel good about and hopefully build on
Hopefully this solidifies Ryan's AS spot.

Just a pleasure to watch.

9 games against Baltimore and Atlanta before the All-Star break. Get to the break .500 and in 1st place and they are in decent shape. 47 of 71 games after the break against teams with losing records as of today.

Let’s pounce on the Kitties this weekend; jump on Wentz in the first inning and welcome Kenta back. Lewis batting cleanup!

Someone tell Rocco that Wentz is an opener and they may bring in a lefty as soon as the 2nd inning. He should plan his line-up accordingly since apparently this catches him of guard.

I live in NYC - not my job 😉

Rocco got tossed again. Tingler certainly appeared like he was going to pull Maeda after 4 and 2/3rds, but Maeda, who doesn't speak much English somehow talked Tingler into giving him one more batter, and he finished off his day with a strikeout and 5 scoreless innings.

I got confused there for a second. Was that the Twins game or was that the scene from Naked Gun where Frank Drebbin tosses everyone out (including other umpires)?

This has been a typical twins game for the last 3 years. Score a few runs in the first 3 innings. Bats go absolute silent for the next 3-4 innings. Then hold on and hope that the bullpen can close things out. It’s not that they don’t have more opportunities to add on during the game they just seem to always fail to do that.

Farmer could have walked the ball to first base and beat Miggy there to turn the double play.

The reds is a really cool story. Coming back from 5-0 and winning 11-10z De La Cruz is pretty freaking good

The Ryan trade will be great for a long time, but the Mahle trade is going to sting just as long it seems.

Indians lose, Tigers lose, and White Sox currently losing.

Not a bad night!

A poster, can't remember who, said a few days ago that if a central team won 8 in a row would have an insurmountable lead. Could it happen?

No, because that same team could lose 8 in a row!

Yep, the Denny Green theory. We are who our record says we are. A game over 0.500. That's who we are.
Are the best odds we finish the year at, below, or above that? I have no idea.

Nice to see the White Sox pushed back to 7 games out. Think they were starting to believe a little.
