As more information comes out about Zimmer's conduct, he should have been let go a few years ago.

The comments that are coming out are not exactly shocking or hyper-toxic in my opinion.

Sure, Zimmer was a grumpy old cuss. That was known since Day 1 and before which is why he was not hired as a HC until his late 50's in the first place. Also, it's not like it was ever a train wreck, the players were still competing for him until the end.

He is much more entertaining than PA. When he guest hosted the show was better. I have zero interest in fantasy or gaming.

Three hours of Viking cheerleading is almost as bad.

3 hours of Charch every day would be a little much, but he is much smarter and more interesting than PA.
 









Regardless, next GM should have some compelling offers to trade Cousins and start the full rebuild.

Would trade Cook, Harrison Smith, Barr, and possibly others as well.

I'm a fan of getting more value out of the trade, while they can still contribute a fair amount to a new team.


But I think the Wilfs said something like "we don't need a full rebuild"? Or were hinting that while perhaps we're not "close", we're "not that far off" either?

It's not wrong to think they are "close" or "not that far off", at least in terms of making the post-season. With the expanded schedule and playoff berths, weren't all but like 6 teams still in the hunt for playoffs in mid-December? It's hard to not be relevant even a week or two after Thanksgiving.

Mind you that's not the same as being "close" to getting to the Super Bowl, much less winning it.
 

I think there will be coaches and GM's who say, we can make a run with Kirk if we get young on defense and aim to be a top 20 defense, and solidify our offensive guards.

Someone who says this will probably get the job.
 

Not a lot of trades happen in the NFL for a reason. For those who think the Vikings are just going to trade everyone and rebuild from scratch, you will be disappointed.

PA suggested that the Vikes had some "strong internal candidates" for GM and HC.

Florio - as politely as possible - told PA there was no chance of that happening.

He can never even slightly say anything untoward regarding the Vikings as an organization or its managers.

On rare occasion he'll slightly ding a player.
 

PA guaranteed ARodg was done with the Pack. He guaranteed and backed up with 20 yrs in the NFL as cred. Floppy PA

Yeah....no. Gotta be a total overhaul of the staff.

There's enough pieces in place that they can win next year IMO.

PA has been campaigning for Patterson to get a shot at HC since Zimmer was fired.

Seems like he's really clinging to his friends as much as possible.

PA does not like change.

Doesn't communicate well with his players or staff. His way or the highway. Players do not have much respect for him. I would think the GM would have noticed all these things a while back.
 


Barreiro was pushing Patterson. All of them have been commenting on how wonderful Leber was after the game and the possibility of him taking over for Coleman. Regular old boys club at da fan.

Did PA also think that Spielman would be moved to a higher position in the organization?
 

Would be pretty fired up if we got Fangio for DC and one of them yungsters for a playcalling HC

We have 50 plus media members in this town.
None notice or say anything about the coach or GM in a negative way the whole time they are here. Players stand by their coach.

Then suddenly after they are gone "Oh, yeh, he wasn't good".

Michelle Tafoya is done doing NBC Sunday Night Football.
Curious if she'd interview for the Coleman role.

I don't know if she does enough bible study to fit PA's needs. Although reciting David and Goliath will get you through a quarter of the games each year.
