All Things 2022 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

The Vikings should flip either the Jets or 49'ers a 5th round pick for Lance or Wilson in the off-season. A cheap back-up/possible Cousins successor. They won't get one through the draft anytime soon. I'd rather give Lance a shot, but I'm open-minded to either one.
Bolded: why? I'm sure you don't think NFL starters can only be top 10 picks in a draft.

Do you remember what the Cards got for Rosen? Just like QBs are overdrafted compared to their projections, they are also traded for higher value than they are worth, because highly drafted but available QBs don’t grow on trees. Everybody sees the college tape and thinks they are the ones that can get the production out of them. Hubris is high in NFL GMs. It’ll take much more than a 5th rounder for either one.
I mean they go through extensive workouts, too.

But it comes down to being able to adjust to the game speed in the League and still make good plays and decisions like you did in college. Some just cannot do that.

Rosen's issues were just as much, or more, off the field and attitude and leadership struggles. Kid just didn't endear himself to his teammates very much. He was an arrogant entitled SoCal dickhead.

I remember back at the beginning of the 2019 draft, I REALLY wanted the Cardinals to draft Nick Bosa at #1 overall and give Rosen another year. Instead, they went with Kyler Murray and dumped Rosen for a pick that ended up being Andy Isabella at the end of the 2nd round, which hasn't worked out much either.

Going back, I still would have preferred they went with an elite RUSH like Nick Bosa (went #2 behind Murray) over Kyler Murray. I still don't see the Murray experiment going very well for the Cardinals. Cardinals are 4-7 and could very well be underdogs in each of their remaining games.

A house-cleaning is in order in Phoenix, it'll be interesting to see who is left standing next spring

At quarterback most of them are. Yes there are exceptions, but most of the quaterbacks you'd put in the top 10 right now were also top 10 draft picks.

Just looked up his stats. I stand somewhat corrected. Maybe it’s just me, but he just hasn’t seemed to be nearly as much of a factor this year as years past (when healthy).
Pumping up stats in games that don’t matter is irrelevant if you don’t do jack s__t in games that matter.

Would you be willing to trade for egg other of them? If yes, what would you be willing to offer?
I’d take a flier on the NYJ kid for the right price (3rd rounder or later?). I was somewhat high on him out of college. At a minimum, he’s an upgrade at backup QB. Never was a big Lance fan, so I’d pass. IMO, he was a 3rd/4th round guy based purely on potential. But it’s the NFL, and he had good measurables, so he got much more hype than deserved.

Would like to see the actual numbers. Rodgers was not
I'd put the current top 10:

1. Mahomes: Yes
2. Josh Allen: Yes
3. Justin Herbert: Yes
4. Joe Burrow:, Yes
5. Lamar Jackson:, No
6. Tua: Yes
7. Jalen Hurts: No
8. DeSean Watson: Yes
9. Brady: No
10. Stafford: Yes

DeShaun Watson was not a top 10 pick. He was after Mahomes who was 10.

I think a place lime MN might be a better fit than NYC; less pressure

Good catch. Thought they both were. He was 12th.
Same difference anyhow. Just a wierd fact I remember because to me, the Mahomes draft pick snuck up on me. Discounted Texas Tech too much.

This is great, Today Show did a segment all about the Skol chant, which was recently named the best pregame production in all North American sports.

Skol Vikes!!

Very convenient for you to be able to drop Rodgers off, since this year has not gone well.

How about the last 10 years of top X QBs? I bet that is much less kind to what you want it to be.

ZZZ. Do you think Rodgers is currently a top 10 QB? Brady might not be either but I left him on.

Zach Wilson come on down😉

He should be available - just flipped the game on and Mike White is 22-28 for 315 and 3TDs - nice and gusty move by their staff.

Wilson was not even on the active roster today as a backup. Uff da.

Locker room cancer rep. A lot of explaining for any other team to bring him in, IMO.

Not saying it can't work though. Denny Green somehow got a playoff win out of Jeff George.

Didn’t realize he wasn’t active today - that’s crazy. Although this whole experience may give him a new attitude.
