All Things 2014 Basketball Recruiting Thread

Is he a SF, PF, or a combo forward? He's only 6'7 and ESPN lists him as a PF while Rivals and Scout say SF.

From what I hear, he is more of a Power Forward. Maybe we can get him here for his 5th official visit!

FWIW, I am going to Florida this week for business and am planning on catching the Chipola playoff game. I will give a first hand assessment of Morris after the game

1. How good is he defensively?
2. How hard does he take the ball to the hole?
3. Does he have a B1G ready body?
4. Is he better than Austin Hollins?

Anybody heard whether or not Eubanks made his official visit to Wichita State this weekend? He was playing for the NACA national championship on Friday night, but was scheduled for his official on 3/1. No mention of that visit in his twitter account. He has since tweeted about his visit to Pittsburgh a couple times (last night and this morning). I think they are still the favorite.

I ca answer 3 and 4 now without seeing him live.
3. He will be expected to put on weight
4. I will let you know after the 2014 season

Go Gophers!!

I'd take him based on that highlight video. Doesn't look too much different than Mahmoud, maybe not quite as good of an athlete.

Gotta love how much we are recruiting the foreign kids. We didn't see that under Tubby (Oto was recruited after he came to the states).

I love that Richard and staff continue to aim high in recruiting, but dammit I'd love to see them reel one of these big fish in one of these times.

What are the chances this guy even plays college ball, I somehow wonder if that didn't change Louisville's recruiting.

After a quick search he doesn't appear to be an NBA Draft prospect at the moment. Neither Draft Express or NBADraft.net have him in their 2014 or 2015 mocks. I also didn't see any articles suggesting he'd be a draft prospect any time soon.

On the louisville boards awhile back they were saying he was not going to be eligible to play college ball

I'm sure he's not NBA ready but the kid is from Europe, it is just as easy for him to play professionally somewhere in Europe than play college ball in the US, alot of the foreign kids play a year at a prep school in the US to get eligible.

I am not familiar with BTP recruiting, but 247 has had Cekovsky as a Gopher target for as long as Mahmoud has been listed. I did some research on him before and believe there's some question whether he might just go pro (overseas) after he's done with prep school. He's a current teammate of Stockman who is going to Louisville. Arizona was another school that was in on Cekovsky at one point, so I'd assume the competition for him would be as tough if not tougher than for Mahmoud IF he's going to play college ball.

Gotcha, just assumed you meant NBA.

well...game over with this one...

??? Are you suggesting he committed because of that tweet? I thought he was just on an official visit.

ETA: Never mind, didn't see it was Darrelle Revis. I get what you are saying now hahaha

He never committed, just retweeted that tweet, just half jokingly saying he is going to commit to pitt and not here, still no word when he is visiting us and we only got one game left, think the ship has sailed with him, I'd be super surprised if he didn't commit to pitt. I suspect the score to even with us and pitt after eubanks, we got martin they got eubanks

Recruiting is so frusurating. We don't seem to be landing anybody these days!

yeah, and I am starting to feel Piper may be leaning washington now from reading his twitter account, seems like he really likes the idea of representing his state and hometown, and he has teammates encouraging him to go to washington. And the more time he wait, the less that excitement he got from his visit will stick with him. Wish our recruits here had the same attitude about representing their home state.
