Since these guys are both from the northeast, I wonder if Richmondinsider has any inside info he can dish out to us.
 


This has got to be Kimani Young's work if it goes down. Would this recruiting duo top the Williams/White combo?
 




OMG this is exciting. Commit now! Though I doubt they'd actually commit without checking out campus, maybe we could get commits then.

Could this be the reason that Macura hasn't been offered yet, waiting on these two, save one for Vaughn and one for a big man.
 

Are we thinking something could happen today?

Nope, Whitehead said Minnesota is in his top 3 schools, and Jaquan Newton has said that he planned on for sure getting down here for a visits in August. Both showing heavy Gophers interest.

What a potential recruiting class. 2 5 stars and 2 4 stars.

EDIT: assuming the big man you speak of is Reid Travis.
 





Don't get me wrong, if they commited today, I'd be all over it.

Just wondering if it would come down to Perkins/Vaughn or Whitehead/Newton, who would be the best option? I'd go with the first to commit, especially if Vaughn waits until Spring period to sign

Perkins and Vaughn haven't announced any package deal or anything. At this point it's speculation since they MIGHT attend the same prep school. But if it were either/or, you take 4 and 5 stars when they are ready to commit, regardless of what other recruits you are recruiting, especially when you are Minnesota.

You could still play Whitehead at the 2 and Vaughn at the 3! Could you imagine that! We would be soooooooooooo sick!
 

I'm just guessing, but if we land these two I have a feeling our chances with Vaughn would go down quite a bit. It'd be worth it though IMO.

I side with you on both of these points. Chances of Vaughn would become unlikely, but it's worth it.
If this does happen, I think a Reid Travis committment would be a perfect balance to a great class with some strength in the paint.

And as someone else pointed out, Travis has played with Newton before. So hopefully that familiarity+young enthusiastic coaches+loaded class+Ben Johnson=Commit from Travis. Which could end up leading to a commit by Jarvis, but now I'm getting ahead of myself. :D

Would be great if we could get them to visit together.
 

Still don't understand what all the tweeting was about today...? Maybe they did mean stay tuned for a couple months.
