The new strategy needs to be to go after some players we don't really want as a red herring, just to get IU and UCLA on snipe hunts.

He'd be a great fit, could play the 2 or 3, with Austin Hollins graduating next year there is a definate need for a SG that can play SF in 2014, might raise questions with regard to Vaughn but I don't think waiting would be wise if a kid like that wanted to commit.

I thought Austin was a senior this year. Did you mean Andre??
 





Robert Johnson has committed to Indiana. I'm not sure how that impacts Tum Tum but considering Tum wants to play right away I have to think it's a good thing for us. Johnson is a combo guard and they already have Yogi.

There is still a solid chance that Rhode Island power forward Bonzie Colson could be visiting Minnesota this fall.
To date, Colson has scheduled four officials and is choosing between Minnesota, Connecticut and Temple for his fifth visit, St. Andrews High School coach Michael Hart said.

Probably turns that list of 4 into a list of 3 but I still think Tum Tum will probably go to Oklahoma. We have to get LaChance.

From the "amazing home visit" comment to these comments on his visit, I've got to think we're in the lead for Martin. Sounds like he'll still visit Pitt no matter what though.

Yeah. He's tweeting a lot from the football game. Posting videos and all in all, having a great time. Looking to he in good shape hopefully.

Have been messaging with Josh Martin, here are a few of his comments (that he said it was ok if I posted/tweeted):

Me: What are you liking about your visit?
Josh: Everyone is a fan. And I like that. I wanna be in an atmosphere where the support is always there.

Me: What did you think of the football game?
Josh: It was cool. Lots of people showed out.

Me: Any other favorite parts of your visit? Thoughts on Pitino?
Josh: I like the way they play. I think Pitino knows what he's doing and he's got a great group of guys to do it with.

Me: Any chance you'll commit on this visit, or when is your timeline?
Josh: Sometime soon after my last visit. It's to Pittsburgh next weekend.
 

Great job as usual GL - you asked the big question about whether we could obtain a commitment from Martin this weekend. Josh, you'll find Minnesota far more like Washington than Pittsburgh.
 



Wasn't Riley LaChance visiting this weekend also? Anyone know how he liked his visit??

Don't know, but I'm guessing if asked it would go something like this:

"It was cool. I watched practice and got to hang out with the guys. I really like them. Coach Pitino is great and he's got this program going into the right direction. I like the style of play. The football was great, the fans are super."
