With Adam Zagoria stating the assumed destination for Perkins is Gonzaga, and Robinson out of the picture, there will be some urgency for us to get Tum Tum to commit.

I'm guessing he either talked to the kid or to someone who has as he said he either has or will tell the staff tonight. As far as the reason, none was given.
 

Eric Bossi has an interview with Robinson today and it doesn't mention Minnesota at all.

Robinson has done a good job of visiting programs. The only official he has set so far is to Texas A&M (weekend of Sept. 14) but he's taken recent visits to places such as Memphis, Vanderbilt, Pittsburgh and TCU. Yup, really hoping we get Tum Tum. Haven't seen him play, but everything I've read makes him sound like he would be a great pickup. If we don't get him I guess we could settle for Tyus. Have we offered him yet?
 

Do we really need a point guard in this class? like if we don't get Tum Tum do we get another player? or do we get a bunch of shooting guards, resolve to the fact that Dre isn't moving away from the point and having McNeil back him up for a 2nd year and hope we get Jarvis or someone in '15? asking because I don't know.

I have to agree with you. I would have no problem waiting for Jarvis Johnson.

Assuming you're talking about Dre Hollins, don't forget about Dre Mathieu as well. But yes, I think Pitino would like a stud PG just about every year since he prefers a guard heavy lineup.

Probably yes. Or at least a combo guard that could handle the ball. We presumably will have Hollins (combo), Mathieu (point), and McNeil (combo) but I would strongly bet that we'll get another ball handling guard this class, no matter what.

“I hear from Minnesota the most." That seems like a theme with Pitino and his coaches. Love it. It seems like that was only the case under Tubby when it was somebody that no one else wanted, a local player, or someone who we started recruiting super late.

I would be alright with not getting a PG in this class and getting Jarvis Johnson or someone of that caliber in '15. If we went into the '14 season with Hollins, Mathieu, and McNeil as PGs I would be fine especially if we had Vaughn, Whitehead, and Macura to fill the other SG/SF spots.

Same. Even if it was a Macura, Baldwin, Vaughn/Whitehead type trio at the wing positions.

Baldwin is a combo guard (point or the 2).

You'd really want to bring in someone who can at least play PG in 2014 (Baldwin would fit that). Going into a season with a true freshman your only option(s) at PG isn't a good idea unless you've got one of only a couple elites most years.

I'd assume that in '15 with McNeil(can play point?) having 3 years of growing and being a junior he would probably start unless you bring in top talent. I forgot that Mathieu will be gone in '15(forgot about him completely in my first post on this). yeah we need a PG for '14.

Really need a big in '14 also, if not you would be left with Buggs and King with experience in 2015 and that's it, Eliason, Walker, Oseniak would be gone, as would Buckles a year earlier if he ends up here.

Ryan James has been hearing a lot of Arizona talk lately involving White. He mentioned that he had heard Georgetown all summer, but they backed off some after White broke his arm. They are now trying to get back in again and are getting a visit, but there may be some trust issues with them now. He said that White doesn't take many calls and is tough to get ahold of, but UConn's rivals site was one of the only he was willing to talk to if that means anything. He thinks DePaul is just kind of the local flavor that maybe is just being strung along.
