All Things 2014 Basketball Recruiting Thread

My predictions:

Tyus Jones- Duke
Rashad Vaughn- Kentucky/UCLA
Reid Travis- Stanford
Lourawls Nairn- Minnesota
Josh Perkins- UCLA
Quentin Snider- ???
Josh Martin- Minnesota
Alex Robinson- TCU
Wade Baldwin- Vanderbilt
JP Macura- Minnesota
Isaiah Whitehead- Syracuse
Paul White- Georgetwown

All top 120 players.

I think this is pretty realistic. I'd be quite happy with a class that includes Lourawls, Martin and Macura.

Pretty good predictions, the only one I really don't see but I know a lot of others do is Reid Travis going to Stanford. I think he ends up a Gopher and if I had to pick somewhere else where he would go it would be UCLA.

Agreed. I think if we can get a really solid PG such as Robinson or Nairn, getting a few other top 120 players would be huge. A big part of Pitino's system is having a strong PG that can run the floor and distribute. Nairn and Robinson fit that mold.

+1 Truthfully I'd be happy with any class that includes Nairn, just so I can root for a guy who's name is Lourawls. Love it.

And his nickname is Tum-Tum. He is a shorter, strong PG with the nickname Tum-Tum, which he enjoys. I can see the fans in the barn cheering for him already...

If those predictions turn out true, and we get three top-120 players, and Pitino turns out to be as good a coach as he seems to be from first appearance, Minnesota will make some hay in the Big Ten.

Terry Larrier Cuts to 10

The 6-foot-8 Larrier is now considering Penn State, Marquette, Minnesota, UConn, Florida State, Miami, St. John’s, VCU, Florida and Seton Hall.

Go Gophers!!

Why do people think that Nairn and Martin will end up at Minnesota? I just haven't followed their recruitment that closely and I'm curious. Thanks in advance.

And the Barnyard needs to chant it like the "Jaws" theme.
Tum-Tum

Tum-Tum-Tum-Tum-Tum-Tum-Tum-Tum-Tum-Tum-Tum-Tum TUM-TUM-TUM!

Probably cause there hasn't been as much buzz about them going other places, and people are starting to lose hope on guys like Whitehead and Perkins so they're next in line lol.

Martin is working on setting up an official visit. Nairn and Alex Robinson are two PG's we probably have a decent shot at since competition isn't as stiff for them as say, Josh Perkins, plus Robinson has also said he'd like to visit.

Big waste of time ... better shot at Tyus... Maybe beilein from Mich. will sign him

We have a better chance at winning the Big Ten and Jr. being coach of the year then we do at getting Tyus.

I think "about the same" is code for "I don't know"

Annoys me when folks like Doogie throw out % chances. It's purely out of their ass. Worthless analysis. Now. Citing quotes and conversations. That's helpful and interesting. Random guesses? Save it Doogie.

Desperation and panic setting in.

It's certainly not a "big 4" that's ridiculous. I would trust a minimum of 15 GopherHole posters/contributors on the "% chance" Tyus, Reid, and Rashad before Doogie. It's strange that people on Twitter ask these types of question of guys like Marcus Fuller, much less Doogie.

Those percentages can be a bi$%tch.

Doogie is the Tim Hanson of "experts"

James Blackmon Jr is a stud. Give him a call, Coach Pitino!!

Blackmon seems like a shoe-in for UK now that they have offered. Would be a legacy as his father played there.
