After 25 years… I’m out

Looks like we got a game at Cal next year.

That looks like a good one to go to.

Provided an earthquake doesn't break their stadium into two pieces ...
I think they may have done some renovations since I was there in 2006 for the Gopher game, but I am not sure you would have noticed if the stadium cracked in half. Pretty awful stadium.

The good part is that some of the surrounding fencing for the stadium was basically broken snow fencing, so when we were getting hammered by Marshawn Lynch, one of our group just walked through the fence found a liquor store and brought back 2 bottles of Captain Morgan through the fence. We were 2 rows in front of Monson and Maturi and the whole row was just passing bottles back and forth in the 4th quarter a couple feet in front of our leadership.

Couldn't even get away with that at my kid's high school :D

Imagine a loss to Maryland.
It could happen. Perhaps the worst and best part about PJ’s Gophers throughout the years is that momentum, play, focus, whatever you want to call it does not carry over from game to game.

There have been plenty of times where it looks like team is gonna get on a roll and then they have an inexplicable flat unprepared performance. But the other side has proven true too. For example that MN team looked beaten down after Iowa and Michigan looked to be a blowout waiting to happen but then they turn in an inspired performance.

This is exactly how mediocrity works.

This actually is the other nail in Grinnin' Glen's coffin to go with the historic defensive collapses.

Inexplicably poor performance against an "inferior" opponent after a great performance the previous week. Back then we just called it "playing to the talent level (or lack thereof) of the opposition" but it just seems to be something that goes with football here at Minnesota more often than not.

Actually expecting though a good game next week against the Terps. It's Illinois that I'm more worried about.

Teams that "fall out of the top 25" (#11, to be precise) are then immediately consigned to being "at the bottom"? The "bottom" of what, exactly?

As far as storming the field is concerned, I can see how it would make you uncomfortable. Too much enthusiasm. Very unseemly.

That said, I'm glad you're enjoying this Gopher football season — in your own way.
What are you talking about? I never mentioned anything about USC and the top 25. I thought it was self explanatory I meant they were the bottom of the B1G. If it wasn't evident for the slow people like yourself then it is clear as day after today lol.

I know, but but but they were ranked #11 🤡

Any regrets with cancelling your Pasadena trip? Pretty exciting 2nd Half.
No regrets at all. I got to experience the Rose Bowl when I saw U2 on their 30 yr anniversary of the Joshua Tree. Also, I was in LA the weekend before. I'm glad so many Gopher fans got to experience it and got to see a win. They deserve it.

Hopefully this team can get to 6 wins and play in a bowl game. I still think the program has regressed without Ciarrocca and I hope Fleck is able to find a comparable replacement, or he's able to develop someone into a comparable replacement, whether it's Harbaugh or someone else. It's definitely encouraging to see the offense be able to close out 2 games in a row. Hopefully they can continue to get better. No regrets at all.

I saw the same tour at Soldier Field, on a gorgeous Chicago evening. One of the coolest rock n roll moments ever with Larry starting the show off with the drum beat to Sunday Bloody Sunday, pitch black, crowd completely hushed, all by himself in the middle of floor with the rest of the band joining him one by one.

Amazing show. Saw it again a few months later in Minneapolis when they hit the Zygi Dome. Both times I was about 10 - 15 ft away from Mullen, for the opening mini-set.

That’s awesome! I definitely enjoyed the Rose Bowl, from the first second to the last! It was a gorgeous day and evening. I saw them in San Diego later in the tour, about 5 rows from the stage and I agree with everything you said. That opening was awesome!

It's very important to you that the Minnesota win over USC win is minimized. I get that. Too obvious.

Tell, me, "GoldenUMNGopher"... what is your point, overall? What is it that you're trying so desperately to say?

I love the user name, by the way. So very convincing!

Many of your posts are too cute by half.

Tens of thousands of dollars spent. Traveling to 9 bowl games. Putting my heart into this. I’m done.
You’ve now missed one of the longest BT win streaks in 25 years!!! Sorry you quit on the squad, it’s been a great season.

Please post you’ve quit Gopher basketball, Skol, Wolves, etc, we have some winning we need to do!

Go Gophers!!

Not just 4 Ws, but in a very enjoyable fashion.

3 down to the wire games with clutch late go ahead scores, followed by the D causing turnovers. The other was a Homecoming blowout with a Gopher QB throwing for 300+ yds on a gorgeous fall afternoon.

Today was fun to beat a Big 10 West foe and even more so to hang an L on Bielema for the 1st time. Ever.

Would have sucked to miss out on that.

I’ll reiterate what I said last week or the week before when somebody dredged this up — to bring it up is really Puss.

I'll admit, to that poster's defense, I was also making alternative Fall Saturday plans after the Iowa game. I felt lucky that my family was traveling the Saturday of the Michigan game and couldn't watch it live.

Have to admit I also was pretty down after whyowa. Thought michican't would be a bloodbath. But I have been pleasantly surprised since the 2nd half of the cheating stallions. So, yes, I was in the dumps too and conflicted. Happy things have changed.

The guy made this thread to draw attention to himself. The people replying are just helping him out.
Sorry you aren’t able to rip PJ as much as you want this week. Maybe next week you’ll get your chance.

Hey now...he has thousands of college football snaps under his belt! He is better than us lowly fans!
