2014 NCAA Tournament Thread: Buzzer Beaters, Bracket Busters & More...

19...There is not one BIG team that wouldn't have beat Baylor tonight. Wisconsin is running into teams that are laying
major eggs. Baylor ' s first half and Oregon ' s second half were real stinkers.

Iowa would be lucky to beat Lakeville North High School the way they played during the last month. I know it must be tough to see another successful Bo Ryan team but Wisconsin is playing well and they deserve credit.

With Wisky winning I can only come in second in my pool. If Wisky wins one more I'm toast. Assholes.

A couple of HORRIBLE calls on Tarzenuski....or whatever his name is .........for AZ gives him 3. That could be a game decider.

This Florida team's got everything. This is Billy Donovan's year to get another championship and if he does he has to move into that elite group of coaches in the country no?

He's there already. How many coaches have two titles? Not many. Add another Final Four trip and 4 straight Elite Eights and that is even rarer company.

And like the commentators said there probably isn't a first round pick in the starting 5. Walker and Finney-Smith come off the bench. Frazier is just a soph so at 6'4" and being athletic and such a great 3pt shooter he has a chance I guess.

Even with all that he doesn't seem to get the recognition he deserves. Hell of a coach.

kevin ollie is doing a great job at uconn! looks like they'll get to at least the elite 8.

I have had a soft spot for Kentucky since the days of Mashburn, but I am rooting for Louisville. That said, the Cardinals are getting help. Their guards are holding on in-bounds on the press and Hancock is constantly pushing off to free himself on offense.

What's with Lundquist and Raftery openly cheering for Virginia?

Wow these games are awesome!!! My thumb is getting a good workout with the remote!

Go Gophers!!

ACC, Big East, and Big 12 with zero teams in the Elite 8.

Curious to see if the media will stay continue their argument that the Big 12 was the better conference...

That makes me even more irritated about the seeding of a couple of the Big Ten teams. MSU was better than a #4 seed when freaking Creighton is a #3, and Kansas absolutely DID NOT deserve a #2 seed without Embiid, in fact I would say a #7 seed was more fitting for them without him considering they lost half of the games they played without him at the end of the pre-selection part of the season and one of those L's was against a non-tourney team in WVU. I think it is ridiculous how the Selection Committee totally ignored the influence that injuries have in seeding/selection this season. BYU didn't belong in the tournament whatsoever. But I felt OSU deserved a #5 ahead of VCU (who was minus one of their key players due to injury on top of being a worse team) and Oklahoma (another pro-Big 12 seed this year was OU getting a #5 ahead of Ohio St). The Committee did everything as favorable as they could for the Big 12 this year, it was not right, and a couple of Big Ten teams had their seeds affected adversely as a result.

I was right about the Big East and the A-10 being weak (I am sure some people will point to Dayton, but they've been very fortunate especially against Syracuse), but I thought the Big 12 was pretty good and was wrong about that. The two most surprising results of the tourney to me so far have been Stanford over Kansas and Gonzaga over Oklahoma State. The Big Ten has had an excellent performance, and I hope both Michigan teams win this weekend.

Great games last night. Geez...All 5 Kentuck starters freshmen! Glad Izzo made it in. Still don't think anyone can beat
the Gators.

Wouldn't it be great if it was a Michigan vs Michigan State final?

We'd still hear how the Big Ten doesn't hold a candle to those other conferences and how (and Seth Davis said this on the air the other day) if you started this tournament over again, the outcomes would be completely different. Is his and his colleagues' way of saying that they were right all along and the outcomes are generally fluky.
