2014 NCAA Tournament Thread: Buzzer Beaters, Bracket Busters & More...

I think it went off of Jackson last but not sure if they can overturn it. I wouldn't complain if they do however.

I think I just saw Bob Barker in the stands again.

Blech blech blech. Michigan better win tomorrow so they can destroy them in the FF.

Figures Wisconsin would make it to the Final Four on the backs of a terrible missed shooting foul against Gasser-turned-offensive foul.

I mean, you wouldn't expect them to get there without the assistance of the refs, would you?

Fantastic, one of my favorite sporting events and now I can't bear to watch. F the Badgers.

Wisconsin to the Final Four but Minnesota has already clinched the border battle. Guess it's even.

Sure would be nice to have just half of the recent success wisky has had. I just don't see us as being close at all...hope I'm wrong...damn I'm depressed

Is kamisky going to get looks from the nba? how does someone make the jump he made from his first 2 years like that? they are going to have a nice recruiting class next year, today blows

Horrible inbound draw up by Arizona. A dribble drive off the curl???? WTF, did they think they had 5 seconds. ?

Sad thing is they should be better next year. Only lose Brust.

I think Kaminsky could be a first rounder this year if he wants to be. A 7 footer with decent foot speed that can shoot like that....

He's an uglier, cross-eyed Nowitski right now. He can't play D, which makes him perfect for the NBA.

I thought this was a pretty good tweet. What a horrible offensive foul call on Johnson and if anything should have been called their it should have been on Wisconsin. Had Arizona losing in the championship in my bracket so this game probably knocks me out.

The fat fu-k Barry A - hole wording " no way" on the out of bounds question. Go Gators, Go Cats,

So, the Gasser play was an obvious example of the flagrant foul rule (which I hate), but was not called. Gasser put his head down and just wildly flailed his elbows. I've seen this call made multiple times when the offensive player had his head up, wasn't bent over, and was just trying to swing the ball...but in this case, with the offensive guy bent down, not looking, and just flailing it was not called?

The offensive foul on Johnson takes the cake for the worst call of the tournament. Gasser fouled him initially and the ref swallows his whistle, but he's willing to blow it to call and offensive foul a tenth or two of a second later? Horrible. What's really funny about that call is Trayvon Jackson is the KING of the push off as he doesn't have enough speed quickness to get all the way to the rim, so he's always using his off hand to push the defender away.

Arizona needed to make this game about talent, and they failed to do that falling in to a who can execute better in the half court game. Really disappointed to see Johnson fail to even get a shot up on the final play. I think Arizona needed to get something going towards the basket there and hope to force the refs to blow their whistle.

Absolutely disgusted by the outcome, but congrats to Wisconsin for winning a game I didn't think they were capable of winning. I can't believe that program has been to two final fours since our trip in '97. It's beyond time to set things back in the right order.

The Gasser play should have been just a play on and not a offensive foul. Michigan I thought against Tennessee got the benefit of a call on what should have been another play on situation.

Regardless Badgers are good and put themselves in a position to win. Arizona has to come up with something better on the last shot than what they did.

It's one of the many that is not called consistently. Steve Kerr kept saying that it isn't a flagrant because the intention wasn't there. That's not the rule from what I understand. Even if you don't mean to connect with an elbow, it can still be called.

As for the foul at the end, I definitely think the offensive guy pushed off, but as mentioned, it looked like Gasser committed a foul first.

I was very surprised they overturned the out of bounds call late though. Not sure there was enough video evidence to overturn it in my opinion.

You always are cheering for and praising the Badgers. You suck.

Six different Big Ten schools have reached the Final Four since the turn of the century. Sadly gophers have not been one of them

I don't cheer for the Badgers but I'm not above giving them credit. Your envy and jealousy of the Badgers is obvious with your constant whining.

You "give them credit" an awful lot in a lot of fawning ways. You also seem to put down the Gophers an awful lot. Curious if you're not just a troll.

That's why I hate the rule, the intention is almost never there. You have guys trapping a ball handler and reaching/grabbing at the ball for a "jump" while the official sits there and doesn't blow the whistle...how is the offensive player supposed to move the ball without moving is elbow(s)? This also happens when a defender gets way to close to the offensive player in man to man defense and the offensive player attempts to make a drive past/around him. In so many cases, it's the defense that is initiating the act and the offensive player who is being put in an unfair situation. If the offensive player is clearly just playing basketball and the defender is invading his space, I don't see how he could/should be called for a flagrant especially in a situation where he's getting fouled himself. Intent obviously isn't a criteria or I wouldn't have seen some of the calls I did this year. Now you have kids faking the elbow (like Crean instructed his player to do against Minnesota last year) to try to buy a cheap flagrant call.

Agree on the out of bounds call, I didn't think there was enough evidence to overturn the call. Very similar to the play in the Kentucky/Louisville game where they kept the call on the floor, even though I thought it might have been off the Louisville player.

Well the Badgers have been to the Sweet 16 3 out of the last 4 years. Now they are in the Final Four. They haven't finished lower than 4th in the conference nor missed the NCAA Tourney since Bo Ryan took over and Gophers are in the NIT once again. If being able to recognize based on that the Badgers program is far superior to Minnesota's and I do not whine about their success makes me a troll than yes I am a troll.
