29 games 39/129 from the 3
3 games 16/19
26 games 23/110

We'll have to wait and see how it plays out, but he shot a higher % from beyond the arc than Petteway did this year. A higher overall FG % too.

Think he's 6'9". Not sure about the weight.

Josh replied to a tweet last night I think when someone was questioning Joey King's height. Martin said he was 6'9 in shoes the last time he measured. That usually equates to about 6'7 1/2. The basketball heights you see listed are almost always a with shoes height if anyone is curious.

He shot a higher % beyond the arc than EE also. So what's your point? The overall % was nearly identical, but many experts agree the B1G is tougher than most JUCO conferences.:) It's nice to see one of our members compare Carlos Morris to Petteway though.

Eric Bossi head of Rivals recruiting says Morris will average 10 and 4-6 rebounds next year.

I'd love to read that article, can you link it? I was responding to, he was a good shooter because he went 5/6 from the three. So he will average 4 points less and about the same number of rebounds. If he can put up practically the same numbers as 3 year starter Austin Hollins, the future looks much brighter. As of 3-18-2014, 247 Sports just dropped him from the 10th best JUCO to the 18th.

He tweeted it. He's only seen him play in person though. You should send him a link to some YouTube videos so he can have a more informed opinion. :)

Help me out here. The page I pulled up still has him rated #10. Should I be looking at something else?

Should I send the Chipola stats for the past 2 years also?:) When did he see him play? With the full team, or with the 3 players missing?

I just googled JUCO basketball player rankings 2014.

That list is the composite rating, which includes other media sources. That number is unchanged, as is 247's #10 ranking. This probably isn't important at this stage, but he didn't suddenly get downgraded, as was suggested.

Good thing they play in shoes

Can't miss it. Top 50 now has 5 Chipola players. Morris dropped more than Cassel. Torian Graham now at 4.

The JC rankings always seem spotty to me. A few years ago we brought in Devron Bostick who was a very high rated JC player. However, Morris was also rated fairly well coming out of HS too. I am excited to see him as a gopher

I've never seen a fan so determined to bring down an incoming recruit. Particularly one that was as highly rated as Morris (both in Juco and out of HS).

I can only imagine what present-day Howie would have thought of HS-Howie before he took the world by storm at that D-3 school.

Find the updated one where they rate 50 players. It's there for all to see. No idea why they put the date of 3-18 on the old one which only rated 39 players.

I went to the game last night. Morris is a good player. I cant understand why anyone is disappointed with him. Honestly, in a 4 on 4 matchup of Bowers, Graham, Morris and Cassell vs Hollins (plural), Mathieu and King, I think it is a toss up. My point being, he is, and plays with B1G caliber ball players. Strong defender and ultimate team player. Graham was off last night, so they needed Morris on the outside. He delivered.

247 rates him the 10th best JUCO player. The composite rating, a blend of numerous national media outlets, is #18. Neither of these numbers have changed. Both lists are accessible at this link. Directly above the list, you can click on "247 sports composite" or "247 sports."

I'm not sure anyone is disappointed. He's been compared to Petteway, other posts say he is better than Austin Hollins and Joe Coleman, some guy named Eric Bossi said he will average 10 points and 4-6 rebounds, now we find out his JUCO team can just about play in the B1G. Can anyone figure out why he is our lowest rated recruit, in our 65th rated class in the country? Last I looked, he is the only JUCO signed by a B1G school.

And one poster said he wouldn't make it to campus.

See, I can refute your extreme comments completely out of context just as well as you can.

Bottom line is he isn't as bad as you want him to be, and he isn't as good as some are hoping he will be. He's a quality recruit with some upside, and there is reason to believe he will contribute right away based on the simple fact that we have no one else.

This is getting silly now. Let it go.
