Howie, Pitino recruited the guy, offered him, and signed him. I don't know what that tells you, but it tells me that Pitino wanted him. And since Pitino knows more than me (and you, by the way), I'd stop b******* and accept that he's signed to play for us.

Morris has higher 247 rankings than McNeil did last year, and he's turned out pretty good so far. Just saying.
 

My order of excitement for these recruits so far goes... martin,morris, mason... Martin and morris both have a chance to start day one.

Actually, Carlos Morris isn't our lowest related recruit. He and Mason are both rated an 89 by 247. Martin is rated at 87.

Carlos Morris isn't Petteway or Austin Hollins. Most likely he will have an impact more similar to Coach P.'s other JUCO recruit, Malik Smith. Coach P. has 3 more scholarships to get us off the bubble, bubble. Going 0-2, then losing Mathieu, EE, Dre, and Not So Huge Mo for 2015/16 makes things real interesting. Let's hope Morris was the right choice.

Yeah cause Malik was a top 150 recruit coming out of high school and was a top 10 JUCO recruit. :rolleyes:

I've never seen someone try so hard to disparage a recruit before he's even stepped on campus.

I just wanted to make sure you're not drinking. In another post you said, Bowers #1, Graham #4, Cassell #15, and Morris #18, could hold their own against our very own Gophers of Dre, Austin, Mathieu, and King. Do you really believe one of the better JUCO team's in the country can match up with a B1G team that missed going to the dance by one game?

They'd probably beat High Point......

These guys aren't in JUCO for lack of talent.

So in your opinion also, after Coach P. and staffs first year, our Gophers are not much better than a good JUCO team.

Dre and Austin are three year B1G starters. Mathieu and King are Pitino recruits, with Mathieu being his prize JUCO recruit. Since you feel we are basically little better than a good JUCO team with those four, can you tell me specifically how Carlos Morris makes the situation any better?

Consider that Mathieu is the best player on the team. This time last year, he was one of those JUCO players. That is one matchup where the Gophers would have the edge. Austin would more than hold his own. King would be overmatched against Bowers, and Andre is not the Andre we're used to. Pitino did a remarkable job managing to get 8 Big Ten wins from this group.
 

If it wasn't for a big juco recruit this year Mathieu this team would not have won 2 Big ten games.

I really doubt that anyone can tell you anything. You seem to enjoy pi$$ing on anything positive that has been said.

I'm not sure how saying the team is not better than a juco squad is considered positive.....
 


My whole point was that we are getting a pretty good ball player in Morris. The reason I used the 4 on 4 comparison is because there is a huge drop off in talent after the top 4 at Chipola. Gophers, as a team, are in a completely different league, but Chipola does have some B1G talent. My post was intended to be positive. POLLYANNA!!

The fact of the matter, is that we have no idea what we are getting with Morris. JUCO transfers are so unpredictable. He could be a top 3 player for us and a double-digit scorer/defensive stalwart next year, but he could also be an poor-man's Austin Hollins who can't hit a shot to save his life. That's the beauty of college basketball. We'll find out in the fall!

You must have missed the long argument about Joey King. Prior to that Buggs wasn't real popular because of how difficult it was to get info from the prep school. Arguing about recruits isn't new.
