I thought the Gophers couldn’t go to a Florida bowl because MN snowbirds in the area don’t count because they don’t pay for hotels and restaurants. Why wouldn’t NYC want out of towners instead of Syracuse locals?
 


Paranoia is pandemic on this site this afternoon.
The people in charge of the bowl look at the list of teams left that are eligible and make their decision on many factors.
I doubt very much that the powers that be in the BIG care a whit after MI and tOSU made the final four and PSU is in the Rose bowl, where the also rans go.

Many people commenting have no idea how anything works.
The game that cost us the division wasn’t the Iowa game or the Illinois game (although beat them both and it would’ve worked)

Been a Gopher fan my whole life. How about you? I really wonder. Considering Syracuse lost 5 of their last 6 they deserve to play in the cesspool they call NYC.
 

Gophers unranked, get worst bowl, Mo not a finalist for the Doak Walker, no Outland consideration for Schmitz, no defensive player makes all-conference first team (yet defense is in top ten), Mo probably not a consensus All-American, despite his stats, etc.
 

I don't dislike Pinstripe bowl or New York City, I dislike the fact ACC gave Syracuse a virtual home game. Northern climate games should have to be played in indoor stadiums.
 



Sorry folks, you can blame the Gopher bowl situation on an A.D. who sits in the corner and lets happen instead of being actively involved. Sad
 





I’ve been to almost every bowl game in the last 20 years. This location and opponent are a hard pass. I do like that our team will get weeks of additional practice n this should help the continued development of AK8. For the players sake I hope they get some awesome swag.

LMAO. What. I've been to NYC numerous times and have zero clue what you mean. Not everything is sparkling new. I swear people see older cities and view them as 'dirty' vs 'history'....you'd probably call 99% of Europe a cesspool because it's falling apart. 'Look at that piece of shit tower...it's leaning!' 🤣
