By Minnesota's historic standards this class already qualifies as very exciting. If some of these other dominos fall our way though.....damn.....that would amazing.

Ortiz seems to have been the big chip, once he jumped in the boat others have been following suit. Long way to go until December but if this class holds together and adds some of these other high rated guys it has a chance to be a game changer of a recruiting class for the U of M and one that could help vault the program to a true contender if the players live up to their hype.

Ortiz and Athan spend a ton of time recruiting kids. They are both 4 stars that seem to get "it". They want to win. They'll grab anyone they want and push them towards the Gophers. Their parents do the same thing. Two kids that I don't worry about leaving but will add to this class.

It was mentioned earlier that this class has a definite 2016 feel in terms of the connection between the recruits. The amazing part is that in 2016 it was mostly local guys with limited fanfare outside the top few guys (CC, Green) whereas in 2021 it is National guys with legit bigtime offers.

Don't wanna jump the gun too early but it appears Sam Jackson has deleted all posts on his instagram that were of him in another team's uniform and has kept the one of him in the Gopher uni. That's likely a good sign!
This is too much for me. Too much success all at once.

What's his instagram handle?

Maybe Dickerson can get a ratings bump to 5-star status, with a big Senior year.

One thing that's cool is Brady Boyd is the lowest rated at .8566. At certain times in the past he may have been the prize of the class. He still may end up being the prize of the class with on field performance, but purely from a numbers point, this is getting fun.

In the last 10 years Brady Boyd would be our ___ highest commit:

2011 --- 3rd
2012 --- 6th
2013 --- 2nd
2014 --- 5th
2015 --- 2nd
2016 --- 5th
2017 --- 3rd
2018 --- 14th
2019 --- 13th
2020 --- 14th

Good info, thanks. Shows where this program was and where it is headed. Never thought I'd see it.

Where do you see that silent verbal?

Not saying this is a definite indicator, but there were a lot of Hokies in his Twitter feed after he tagged Wilfong. Also makes sense he might not want to be the 3rd CB in this class. Playing time is looking tough

I heard Ortiz talking about how the coaching staff wanted to play him all over the field. Plenty of opportunity out there for Riley on the outside with Dickerson on the other. I'm just trying to talk myself into it. No crystal balls yet. I'll be waiting on those. Somebody's gonna know something real quick.

It is pretty shocking when you see it laid out like that. Stars and rankings aren't everything but it certainly underscores the fact that we are going after a different caliber of recruit under Fleck and landing them far more often then we did in the past.

Thanks for posting. This is the first time in 40+ years that I've felt the Gophers are actually bringing a gun to gun fight.
