The Gophers got another big commitment both literally and figuratively when 6-foot-7 defensive end Adam Kissayi committed to the Maroon & Gold Sunday. Listed as the No. 436 recruit in the country, Kissayi chose Minnesota over top offers from Miami (FL), Michigan and Nebraska.

Who is Adam Kissayi?:
Growing up in Palm Bay, Florida Adam Kissayi’s favorite sport was originally soccer. At 6-foot-7, a sport like football obviously made more sense. After standing out as a junior, recording 33 tackles, 13 TFLs, 8.5 sacks and 9 PBUs, the offers started flowing in for Kissayi. Highlighted by Michigan, Miami (FL), Nebraska and Mississippi State, he quickly rose up the recruiting ranks, now slated as the 436th-best recruit in the country.
- Scouting Report:
At 6-foot-7, 230 pounds, Kissayi is a very unique defensive end prospect. He has a lot of room to grow into his frame when it comes to adding weight, but his tremendous length gives him a unique pass-rush style. With new DL coach Winston DeLattiboudere, the sky is the limit for Kissayi.
Instant Reaction:
New DL coach Winston DeLattiboudere is on a role in his first off-season recruiting with the Gophers. Kissayi joins Jaylin Hicks, Jide Abasiri and Mo Saine in a really fun group of defensive linemen committed to the 2024 class and Kissayi is now the second-highest-ranked commit for the Gophers’ class overall. With his unique length and athleticism, he will provide a skill set that not many other players can offer. He has one of the highest potentials of any Gophers commit in this class.
What is next?:
With four total Gophers’ commitments from the weekend their 2024 class now has 23 commitments, ranking 9th best in the entire country. The first weekend of Summer Splash was a success for the program and weekend No. 2 might’ve been better. The 23 commitments are already two more than last cycle, but with two of the top players in Minnesota still un-committed, I have a feeling the Gophers are far from done.
