And here you are accusing others of fabricating

There's no reason it should be about $$. It's Rutgers not Michigan. If PJ and Schiano have such a great relationship, is it at all possible that Schiano spoke with PJ prior to hiring Kirk?
The vitriol by some of you towards Kirk is almost comical. A guy gets hired by someone he used to work with, closer to home, for reportedly significantly more money and he is what? Supposed to say no? Please.
He's been with PJ for many years at two schools over 3 stops. He knows what job he signed up for. There's no way to excuse this or make it pass the smell test.Maybe PJ has too much influence and doesn't allow him creativity? Perhaps PJ overruled plays in some of these games (Purdue/Iowa etc.) and he thought that might change when he came back this go round, but it didn't?
Seems like it has to be something like this for him to leave AGAIN!
Did Simon cut you off in rush hour or something? Lol we get it you don't like himI don’t know what would be better for the board:
Option 1: Simon gets the job and his fanboys finally shut up about him
Or
Option 2: Simon doesn’t get the job and it’s a total meltdown
Both would be nice in very different ways.
How do you get that I don’t like him?Did Simon cut you off in rush hour or something? Lol we get it you don't like him
Who loved the Rossi hire? But loved the Rossi hire
Guy just doesn’t want to be here. We rented him for a year while he rehabilitated his resume.Maybe it was always a short-term deal?
Got KC out of being an analyst in West Virginia and back in the OC game.
Clearly he (KC) and his family want to be out east. That's where they're from.
Rossi only became the LB coach once he was assigned as the Defensive Coordinator. He was the D-line coach until then. The link you posted looks like the staff at the end of the 2018 season, seeing as Panagos didn't start here until January 2019DL coach was Paup and then Panagos.
According to: https://gophersports.com/sports/football/coaches/2018
Rossi was LBs.
Everyone loves the Rossi hire now.Who does not love the Rossi hire?
Go ahead. This is your chance. Let’s have it.

OK thanks. (I was wondering if there was something messed up with that link)Rossi only became the LB coach once he was assigned as the Defensive Coordinator. He was the D-line coach until then. The link you posted looks like the staff at the end of the 2018 season, after Smith's firing.
Solid postEveryone loves the Rossi hire now.
I assumed you were making the comparison to when he was hired.
I don’t remember how I felt about it at the time.
I do remember I didn’t think you necessarily had to fire the other guy mid season because I didn’t think it’d make a difference. I was wrong and that’s what got Rossi the job and I was okay with it. I don’t remember “loving it” at the time. But it made a lot of sense.
Was the DL playing poorly in 2018?OK thanks. (I was wondering if there was something messed up with that link)
Let me therefore completely and entirely change the logic of my argument.
those who hold the passing game against Simon:
Did you hold the very poor play of the DL in 2018 against Rossi, before Robb Smith was fired and Rossi hired?
So it wasnt necessary and wouldnt make a difference, but it made a lot of sense.....im confusedEveryone loves the Rossi hire now.

Quite honestly, I don't care at all that he's leaving. I never thought he was a difference maker and/or the reason why 2019 was so special. He's been with PJ for many years at two schools over 3 stops. He knows what job he signed up for. There's no way to excuse this or make it pass the smell test.
That was all Tanner and AK duhBateman seemed to do OK.
Jackson and Brockington seemed to do OK against Wisconsin.
I didn’t think it was necessary and didn’t think it would make a differenceSo it wasnt necessary and wouldnt make a difference, but it made a lot of sense.....im confused
I don't think it's the end of the world. But losing your OC to a lateral move to a worse program isn't a good look. And this many staff losses in one cycle is problematic.Quite honestly, I don't care at all that he's leaving. I never thought he was a difference maker and/or the reason why 2019 was so special.
Frankly I think we know the reason why that year was so special and it was the seniors and the receivers that made it the year it was.
Good riddance and bring on someone that's more creative as I didn't think he was creative but gave him the benefit of the doubt due to him coming back and PJ wanting him back. This offense never showed any creativity and ran the same plays constantly so let's find someone creative!
I’m going with:I don't think it's the end of the world. But losing your OC to a lateral move to a worse program isn't a good look. And this many staff losses in one cycle is problematic.
We lost Harasymiak, Patterson and Wilt last year (I guess you could count Sanford as a fourth). We did just fine this year without them.I don't think it's the end of the world. There you go. Lost OC and three assistants after 2021 as well. One of which went to go be the DC at Rutgers. We lost Harasymiak, Patterson and Wilt last year (I guess you could count Sanford as a fourth). We did just fine this year without them.
The part we don't know and tends to get overlooked is whether or not Simon actually wants to be an OC. It gets said that Fleck passed on him but I don't know that it was ever confirmed he was even a candidate.I don’t know what would be better for the board:
Option 1: Simon gets the job and his fanboys finally shut up about him
Or
Option 2: Simon doesn’t get the job and it’s a total meltdown

I hope the lesson isn't "Don't hire external co-ordinators" but "have a guy in mind, but if he's not available, have a backup on staff to promote"What I am hearing:
Ciarrocca primary leaving for money and the move came as a surprise.
OC will be an internal hire due to lesson learned with Sanford and fear of losing Athan (he has NFL potential).
Other hires coming after coaches convention.
