Baylor just fumbled it heading into the end zone for a touchback. This was a legit fumble though, not a drop the ball early.
 


What's wrong with NW?! Man, I figured they'd roll this week. Bad one last week, but it's the first game and they've got a good coaching staff. You gotta think they'd bounce back. Ummm...

This seems to be a common theme about Fitzgerald. He has a career 36-44 Big Ten record. But he's young, charismatic so the narriative is he's a good coach. The results say otherwise, outside of a couple of good years, which are often followed up by a bad year.

I ain't saying he's the second coming of Nick Saban, but two 10 win seasons, a 9 win season, and an 8 win season ain't too shabby, especially considering the history of NW football. Their fan base is a joke, stadium is a relic, facilities suck, and academic standards high. Walker and the guy before him did some nice things -- probably about equal to Fitz, so it's not like he built it from scratch though. Oh, and I will agree his personality draws a lot of casual fans into his corner.

Iowa looks good, but Iowa state looks very bad. Illinois looks much better than I expected. Wow, the West is wide open. Good luck to anyone predicting it.

TCU QB is looking pretty dang iffy.
 

The Illini game is probably the most interesting Big Ten on today's docket for me (other than Gophs), and I can't remember that being the case before.
 

Chris Streveler leads good comeback for South Dakota and forces OT where they win in double OT!

Not for long. I agree though, Fitzgerald has done a lot with little at NW. If he wasn't a NW alum, he'd be coaching a big time program by now.

LSU down to Jacksonville St. 3-0

Purdue transfer Danny Etling comes in on the third drive at QB for LSU.
 

Looks like Tennessee really is the paper tiger that they seemed in week one.

And don't look now.....but Jacksonville State is leading LSU 3-0 in the second quarter.

After getting physically dominated for 3.5 quarters they're now up 21-20 with 7:00 minutes left. This is the classic Bielema loss - seem like the team is in total control and somehow walk out with a loss.
