Week 2: Other Games Thread

Heading to FS1. Central Michigan up on Oklahoma St 24-20 with 5 minutes left, but Cowboys about to punch it in...

Nicholls had a chance to start Georgia on 3rd and 6 on their own 10 with about 2 min left but Chubb got free

Wasn't supposed to be some very good games this week but a lot of good teams really struggling. Oklahoma St. is losing to C Michigan. Georgia and Clemson are barely winning. Imagine that, we're not the only team that can struggle against lesser opponents.

Anyone got a channel number for the Clemson game? It says ACC network, but I don't think that's a real channel.

Ohio Bobcats up 15-0 on Kansas and driving. Hehehehe

Is old Nebraska coach still at Ohio?

Through the 1st quarter, rushing yards 194-5 for Ohio...

22-0 Ohio over Kansas.

I was at the Ohio Bobcats upsetting our team in the Dome in 2001 or so. Two halfback passes for wide open touchdowns sunk us. So nice to see it happen to someone else.

Oklahoma St intercepts a late pass and they'll survive. But the Big 12 is really down this year. As is the SEC...

He was down with 2 seconds to go. A blind man could see it.

Not 2, but probably 1. Either way they don't have a timeout so they wouldn't have had many options. You can't spike it and you can't run the FG team out there. Only option would have been to throw into the end zone. If WR goes down after getting the first down, they have enough time to spike it and then kick the FG. Yes, the refs messed up, but so did the WR.

Speaking of the bad Big 12 and Pelini, Youngstown St up 14-7 on West Virginia in the 2nd.

I just noticed Wisco is ranked #10??? That is just as insane as LSU was at #5

I wasnt sure if they had a to or nor, bur they should have had an opportunity to get a play off or cartch the other guys offsides.

My consternation with the rampant terrible clockkeeping goes back to I believe 2008 or 09. Texas was playing Nebraska and the TX qb threw it away while time expired. They reviewed it and the ball landed with roughly 0.4 seconds so they were given another down and went on to win. I think in most instances like that the refs walk off the field, but maybe that is my cynicism showing.

Anyone watching the end of Pitt and Penn st? Penn st is making a game out of it.

Oklahoma St had the ball with 4 seconds left and it was 4th down. They do max protect and throw a bomb to run out clock, but fail to send a receiver down the field. So everyone thought the game was over. Refs decide to call intentional grounding, which gave the ball to CMU at the 50 with no time on clock. They throw a bomb to the 5, caught by CMU, lateral to another player and he runs it in for a TD.

Mike Peraria (ref guy on fox) just said the rule says no extension game on offensive penalties that have loss of down. So CMU gets a bit of a gift, but big mistake for OSU either way. And they can't stop a hail mary...
