As someone who IS a socialist/communist SJW, as well as being a football fan (yes, there's a lot of cognitive dissonance here) - this story is pretty ridiculous so far. Even if Reigelsberger wasn't taken out of context (seems like he was), and if Norton's and Edmonds's stories are accurate, that's part of life. With that many student-athletes, sometimes things will go wrong. But, this doesn't seem to be of the "newsworthy" kind of wrong.

Also, I doubt the professor was being demoted because he filed complaints about the football team. It was likely because he filed 100+ complaints. At some point, you just need to realize no one is going to do what you want and you need to give it a rest, otherwise you'll lose your job. Probably sometime before complaint #10.
 





It's telling that, the one othe P5 team that responded to questions about attrition had exactly the same experience, but more game injuries. It's just a statistical accident that all of our career ending injuries occurred in practice.

Which Trek villain bent on calculated vengeance and/or scorched earth destruction best fits Professor Jason? Nero? Khan? Data’s weirdly evil brother Lore? General Chang and his penchant for historical literature?

They basically had tonight that one of the regents will be bringing it up and that they should focus on player safety. That’s totally fine, but here’s the thing that bugs me:

The U players being injured is similar to other schools and the numbers are not out of the ordinary. Why are they acting like this is suddenly a huge issue?

I think the regent wanted to calm fears of some people who think they are ignoring safety, but nothing really will change from this.
 

That's it?????? Watched Parts 1 & 2 looking for anything that indicates major problems with the program. Still waiting for anything to be presented. I think even WCCO realized they F'ed up on this one (showing Coughlin's tweet about the allegations being laughable). Mr. Stahl has lost any credibility that he may have still had left. What an absolute joke!

More sad politics from the U. It's like the academics are upset that their work & research doesn't bring in fat stacks of cash for the U, unlike Athletics.
 

I felt like they tried to put Coughlin in a bad light. They only mentioned parts of his tweet, which the whole thing was blurred out, and mentioned the laughable and not cut out to play football. It made, to me at least, seem like he was making fun of these guys for their injuries or that not being able to come back from them made them not cut out to play football. When that wasn’t really the case when you see the whole tweet or the second one connected to it.

Stahl is very happy now that he got his 5 min fame to promote himself on the back of student athletes. Shameless self aggrandizing project. Stahl also keep calming that he got retaliated for making complaints about football program. Then he should bring charges against the U in a court. I would like to witness how much of what he saying is total BS and how much is the truth. He wont because he know that he doesnt stand a chance. If I were PJ or the U I would bring the libel case to him and make him pay like Gawker Media LLC in Bollea v. Gawker.

I really can't believe that they actualy aired a second segment. on the story. It was just an abbreviated rehash of the Monday night story with thirty seconds from a regent and fifteen seconds from current players defending the program.
 

I didn’t see the story. Based on feedback here it doesn’t seem worth watching. It would be nice for the “U” to come out strong in defense of the FB program here, but I won’t hold my breath for that.

I have not watched or listened to WCCO in a long time and this solidifies my decision not to do so. It is simple. If you believe WCCO is reaching for anything to get views and you dont agree with the morals and values they have then do not listen to their media. Thats how they listen.
