UPDATED 12/18: UW reportedly hires Gary Andersen with career 30-31 record

The list could be up to Six. While B.B. staff is scattering for cover the Defensive Coordinator for the Jaguars says he told Barry no also. Yeah, only Minnesota could be turned down by more than 1 or 2 guys.

"Coaches like Miami's Al Golden and Oregon State's Mike Riley aren't candidates for Wisconsin's vacancy, and Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator Mel Tucker said he spoke with Alvarez but isn't interested in the job. Is Toledo's Matt Campbell a candidate? We could find out after Toledo's bowl game today. "

Thanks for posting this, I thought Mel Tucker had the potential to be a home run hire for Becky.

Rosemountain - You are just a fascinating guy. I am sure he can't wait your next really positive statement.

He can't wait for anything I say...negative or positive...because it will give him an excuse to use my name.
The same goes for you. You two are two creepy dudes. It is strange that someone can't have a differing opinion on a message board without picking up stalkers.

Your obsession with me is also flattering, yet creepy.

I think you are the only two who have this infatuation.

Be thankful. At least you have two. :)

When Kill was hired many posters took a lot of joy in saying that he got the job only after "every other coach" turned us down. So how many coaches does Barry have to go through before he gets to Kill?

That will only happen after BA talks about a Tubby type hire.

Looks like a few more assistants have bolted today.

LOL - Really? Infatuation with one of the most negative person I have met? Don't flatter yourself. Having to read your whining and negativity is not an infatuation. Don't flatter yourself.

Where'd you see this? Trying to find something online but don't see it.

He tweeted that the football pick guy they have on Friday said so and he's 'never wrong.' Not a great source, obviously.

Most Badger fans convinced Partidge is the biggest loss and that this is going to result in the most recruit defections.

Lots of chatter that Mel Tucker is gonna be the new coach.

Reports are out there that he interviewed. It he is the guy, it will break tomorrow and be non ounces on his off day, Tuesday. Just a guess.

Rittenberg just wrote an article and Tucker is off the board.

http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/74087/alvarez-no-need-to-panic-about-uw-search

The rumor about BA coaching for a year and Kyle Rudolph taking over is getting steam.

Rittenberg is probably wrong. Tucker gave what was clearly a non-denial denial. He used the always preferred "at this time" qualifier and kept stumbling over the follow-up answers. I don't know if he's going to be the next Wisconsin coach, but his level of interest is not zero.

You could be right. Rittenberg's been wrong before. Coaches lying about their true intentions isn't much of a surprise, it's almost more of a given.

Barry and Wisconsin have found out that for many reasons, the success of the Badger program, hasn't made it a place that a successful Head Coach wants to work.

Rittenberg reported it straight, that Tucker was offered and said he wasn't interested, but that his name keeps popping up. That is far from saying he's off the board.

Barry seems in denial. Clearly Brad Childress is the answer. Come on Barry.

I hear that Mississippi State has a sharp wide receivers coach they should be taking a look at. From what I hear, he single handedly recruited Vince Young.

@BFeldmanCBS
Former Badger Ben Herbert is new Arkansas’ head strength and conditioning coach, Bielema announces.
