Ugh: Alvin Ellis May Re-Open Recruitment UPDATED 4/3: Ellis gets release from LOI

Honestly, yes. That's exactly along the lines of what he should say. I haven't forgotten you, give me some time to take a look at your film.

I suppose you're right. He would still feel in the dark until he gets some concrete info though. I'm sure he'll contact him soon. Lot on his plate right now.

I don't think that's really the way to go. I think he should do everything he can to get his staff together as quickly as possible and then figure out what he wants to do roster wise. Foster knows he can get out of his LOI if he wants to, otherwise he can be patient and wait for a call later this week.

Foster then followed it up with this tweet:

Greater Than ™ ‏@GreaterThn 22m
oreos and milk>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Retweeted by Alex Foster

Need one of the experts to parse this as to what it means for Gopher BB

He seems totally full of himself. Good riddance.

My initial reaction too. But I think we have to put it in perspective. These kids (at 34, this is the first time I remember saying this) grew up with phones and social media. He's just excited. Humble, maybe not. But not necessarily full of himself.

Maybe he hasn't watched film on him yet and doesn't know if he wants him? Can we really expect him to do a billion things at once? Should he call him and say, "I might want you, I might not. Not really sure yet. Okay, talk to you later."

Yeah, maybe he's out of minutes on his cell phone.

I am bummed about Ellis because I think he is a sleeper but not at all sad about Foster. Never thought he was big ten material, however I do think Pitino is handling these situations all wrong. What do I know though! On another note, buckles is going to be a nice surprise!

Wait. Is Foster out too?

I'm only bummed that we're not going to get any recruits who are freshman . However, I'm not bummed that we're not getting these guys. I get the feeling that these guys are closer to Mav and Mo in ability than Dre Hollins or Eliason. We don't need bodies, we need talent. I wish them the best wherever they land.

Sandell: Daniel Poneman (@SwagAir), who tracks Chicago HS basketball, reporting #Gophers commit Alex Foster has decommitted.

Eliason is not a talent.

No, he's not. But he's not a bum. He at least belongs in the B1G in some role.

Agreed. He's got the ability to compete inside with the likes of Adam Woodbury, AJ Hammons, Frank Kaminsky, whoever MSU starts, Jordan Morgan (if McGary leaves), Amir Williams, Peter Jurkin/Luke Fischer, Alex Olah, etc... He seems to have skills to develop into a Jeff Hagen-like offensive player with more athleticism and defense.

Word is that Alvin Ellis is hearing from some big-time schools. Texas could be one of them. Imagine him blowing up as a freshman elsewhere

Marcus loves to troll every now and then. Love how he says watch him blow up some where else and he never touted Ellis as a player that could blow up when he was signed with us.

I am glad that we do not have to read "Manure from Marcus" on the Strib anymore. Now that he is at ESPN.com, I can ignore him.
