Thank you. Yes to close a post where a staff member was the only problem should be embarrassing to the site and admin. To close a post with no explination is ridiculous. I agree with the last poster, Trevor never admitted guilt to the crime, he just wanted to resolve the issue and move on.. to suggest otherwise is out of line.
 

Not a lawyer, but I do pretend to be smart because of the Internet similar to GW. I however, unlike GW, am capable of having two sided conversations with people and showing empathy. I really think GW has underlying psychological issues with this.

While Trevor never admitted guilt, the court finds you guilty anytime you enter a guilty or no contest plea. I'm not sure why the no contest plea is not shown with the dockets, but all the major news stations reported it.

Adjudication happens after a court finds you guilty. Adjudication withheld means there is no conviction at that time.

Basically, he is not convicted, but every state views a withheld adjudication differently. He can't seal or expunge the record because of the severity of the offense. That withhold will always be with him.

I think it's an odd situation for the university. It's kind of a middle ground since there was no conviction.

Trevor needs no defending, he is a good guy and anything else is junk.
 



The one thing that has really impressed me about Mbakwe has been his attitude on the bench. He's been the biggest cheerleader on the team by far. Many guys would feel sorry for themselves but he hasn't shown that at all.
 

After some digging for a reliable source on internet, I am convinced that Gold Vision and GW are correct. Florida seems to have this weird little system that sort of allows someone to escape "conviction" (thus, as GW mentioned, keeping certain rights), but still be found "guilty." Furthermore, this cannot be expunged or sealed, as also mentioned.

I was a big fan of GW when he started posting, his pre-game write-ups have a lot of good info. This whole Trevor complex is beyond strange.

I think there is a decent, not good chance he could be back next season. It might save Tubby's job, because we cannot have another season like the last two.
 

It sure would be a shot in the arm for this program if Trevor wants to come back & he gets a 6th year. And if that scenario comes to fruition, hopefully his knee responds well and he doesn't miss too much of the season. Even so, I'd rather have him for half a season than not at all.

Censorship is the answer. Right? I think if you put 100 non Gopher fans in a room and laid out the facts in Trevor's case, the majority would say he was guilty. For many reasons, the charge never went to trial. However, Trevor's plea basically says they he does NOT disagree with any of the findings of the DA in the case. Nobody can say for 100% that he did except the victim and Trevor. It is water over the dam and shouldn't be a consideration since the courts and system is over.

Personally I never thought the trial had much weight, to it, I think trevor did what he did with the plea deal so it wouldn't drag out and that he would't have to sit out a 2nd season. Mbakwe was identified when a lady was shown a photo of the team, but she wasn't 100% sure it was him and when the trial came along she was no where to be found. I think it's safe tosay no body really knows what happened, I think had Mbakwe wanted to drag process on he would've had his name cleared, but who knows how long the county would've been willing to drag its feet. He took the deal because it meant no jailtime, his plea was some sort of weird middle ground

BTW, I don't have a particular issue with GW, but who in the he** are the GopherHole mods other than GW and Nanette? I know that the Snowman/Rick Mons dude was for awhile, but it doesn't seem like he is at the moment. Is Rouser or BleedGopher a Mod? All very confusing to me given the lack of transparency

would be great. and regardless of what happens as far as getting another year of eligibility, i hope trevor heals well and goes on to do great things no matter where it happens to be.
 

If a player from Iowa or Becky had the track record of Mbakwe, folks on this board would be up in arms. Funny how homerism can blind people so much. I don't know the guy personally, but based on his track record, he's not the kind of guy I'd want my daughter to bring home for dinner. Folks on this board are willing to name their first born after him simply because he rebounds a basketball well.

Accusations like the one in Miami don't just happen to people randomly, especially when you clean out your apartment and skip town within hours of the alleged incident. Why did he leave if he didn't do anything? How are you able to finish your classes and transfer to a school like the U if you don't attend classes the last month or take final exams? What kind of school was this?

So several days ago Art puts out sexual innuendoes about a Gopher coach while too chicken*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# to actually say anything directly. And now he is the epitome of high standards. Love it when despicable scumbags take the high road.
