I already know your earlier reference to Romar saying that he "hasn't seen a guard like him since Jason Kidd" is a bald-faced lie, so I wouldn't be surprised at all to discover that you're fabricating the rest out of whole cloth as well.
Sorry to bump a 6 month old thread. I'm a lifelong SDSU fan who is pretty excited for the Dec. 4 game with you guys and dying to talk basketball with someone... anyone...
I think Romar was slightly mis-quoted by the guys (minggg?) who were defending/praising Wolters. Washington Huskies coach Lorenzo Romar - "I haven't seen a performance like that since Jason Kidd was in the Pac-10" And he did it against two first round draft picks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muRCKZBSGC0&feature=plcp I happen to think the whole press conference is interesting.
My only comments on the topic of Wolters/Gophers:
I think this whole conversation is kind of silly. Minnesota would have been digging pretty deep to let him walk on much less offer. There are DII and NAIA playes I wouldn't mind seeing at SDSU, but that doesn't mean I would be happy if we recruited them out of high school.
My personal opinion, although Wolters has the benefit of playing in a weaker Summit League, he also has the disadvantage of being the single focal point for every single defense he faces. If he was playing for the Gophers, opponents would still have to spend a decent amount of time going over Williams, Mbakwe, etc. With his abilities now (after playing a ton for 3 years at a mid/low-major), he
could be even more impressive if he were playing in a major conference.
