SDSU just made it harder to bring recruits to the u.

No, not just you, but several others who are angry we didn't go after lesser recruits, after the fact.

The only way Wolters would have played at the U is by walking on. He shouldn't have been and to my knowledge wasn't a scholarship recruit. For anybody to say anything different than that is ludicrous.

I don't see any posts where I stated "OMG! Go Jackrabbits!" or any posts where I say "Huge mistake not recruiting Wolters." Especially when I believe his only chance at the U would have been the Dusty Reichart way.
I will never understand this about Minnesota. Gotta be happy for everyone from Minnesota that succeeds.

Cool no offense taken or meant to be returned to you. No I watch a ton of basketball and have followed Wolters the last few years. I tend to watch many mid major games as I think some of the big schools have lost control and let guys play more of the NBA game. I like to see good shooting and passing.

Good to see at least one other fan here who appreciates team basketball. Thanks for having the courage to express that here.

I was cheering for SDSU, they are not a rival of ours (on the court or the recruiting trail). There success really has nothing to do with our success. Them going to the NCAA does nothing to our program, so I say, why not? Go Jackrabbits!

Yet another mid major from the neighborhood is going dancing! Why any kid that dreams of playing in the NCAA tournament would come to the University of Minnesota is beyond me!

Where did you go zubb? Way to be a coward and post crap like this and then not come back to defend yourself from the verbal beating you rightfully are getting. PU$$Y!

Yea I am kind of opinionated. Not afraid to admit when I am wrong or boxed. I just think basketball in general has deteriorated over the last ten years. Too much shoe selling going on. Or maybe I am just getting old.

Can't disagree with that , however, it's pretty impossible to win Championships now a days on any level by purely playing team bball. It is more likely in college than in the pros. The NBA is a star league an always has been. The exception is when the Pistons won it a few years back. College has followed thi pattern a lot as well. Kemba won the title for UConn last year.

Hansborough was the guy for UNC a few years ago.

Very true. I have to remember that the athletes today are so good compared to 15 years ago.

Agreed. He would not be required/allowed to take 22 shots with the Gophers either.

You are not saying that MN has a better guard than Wolters are you? Forget points. Look at his assists and assist to TO ratio. He only scores because he has to. He is a true PG, do you remember what those look like?

He plays in the summit league. Are you saying that Wolters would put up similar stats in the B1G? If you are, you are smoking some good stuff.

minngg LOVES to start the Wolters debate. Gives him more to bitch about despite the fact that if Tubby recruited guys like Wolters or the non-Taylor players at Wisconsin he would be complaining about poor recruiting.

I have said many times Tubby should not have recruited Nate. So be honest will ya. I have also said he would be MN's best player. I stand by both. He was on the mid-season all-american team by Sports Illustrated. He is a very good player. Where he plays isn't relevant to his talent. Devan George played at Augsburg. People who use that argument are ignorant.

Devean George was 5'10" as a senior in High School and was 6'8" as a senior in College. Now you know why he went to Augsburg out of High School. Bad Example, unless that's if Nate Wolters grows a foot and gets drafted in the NBA. I'm sorry but it's very relevant where a collegiate player plays. If you don't believe that, you're ignorant.

This is hilarious. The same Nate Wolters who was ripped up by Mav this year.

Just because an undersized player can and does occasionally put up big points in a crappy conference doesn't mean he can do the same on a comparable and consistent level in a major conference.

You are changing the argument. You said "He plays in the summit league. Are you saying that Wolters would put up similar stats in the B1G? If you are, you are smoking some good stuff." I never said that. If I did show me. If not stop inferring I did.

6'4" is undersized for a PG?

You know nothing about basketball. Just ignorant comments. If this is all you know about Nate Wolters keep it to yourself and save yourself tghe embarrassment.

Your posts are always great for a good chuckle. Keep up the good work and leave the heavy lifting to others. ;)

You pointed out Wolter's assist and assist to TO to prove that he is better than any Gopher's Guard. So yes, you are implying that Wolters is a better guard based on his stats in the Summit League. I'm also not changing the argument, you changed it by bringing up Devean George. An argument that was just proven to be completely irrelevant.

I know what you mean, it's been an unheard of 2 years (!) since we've gone. But look on the bright side, at least Al Nolen, Kevin Payton, Travis Busch, Devoe Joseph, Jonathan Williams, Devoe Joseph, Devron Bostick, Lawrence Westbrook, Blake Hoffarber, Jamal Abu-Shamala, Damian Johnson, Colton Iverson, Ralph Sampson, Paul Carter, Justin Cobbs, and Rodney Williams got to see that dream come true.

And don't forget Devoe Joseph. ;)

Thanks. I appreciate it. You got caught being dumb so you attack me. Great work Tubtastic, lol.

No, I pointed it out because you said he wouldn't get as any shot at MN. He isn't about shots. He would probably get even more assists at Mn He dosen't turn the ball over and experts and coaches around the country laud him. But you know better. After all he plays for SDSU, he can't be good. Great analysis.

...and the same or less number of turnovers because Iona plays waaaay better defense and has waaaay better guard play than MSU/tOSU/Purdue/etc.....

Keep the laughs coming minngg. Where is the ignore button? I need to stop arguing with morons- they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience! ;)
