Tori has had some pretty rough turnovers so far.
 





Others who have seen her play more please correct me if I’m off base, but I’m a little concerned about the foot speed. Outside of one drive hasn’t been able to get by the sophomore kid guarding her. Given that’s a bit of a theme on the current squad, a little nervy. Incredibly strong though, wow.
 

Difficult to see Greenway get away from the Gophers. Could use her footspeed, scoring, and D at the PG.
 

Tori looked a bit passive and not super quick…

Greenway at a different level maybe two levels… body control and ultra competitive out to prove a point…

I see Tori as a mixture of Heyer & GG... the toughness on the boards as Heyer and the calmness GG... hopefully she brings the ability to finish...

Agree.. when I watched her I was thinking GG at three
 

Providence has a really good coach and they were looking for those cross court passes to pick off. You could tell that they studied film. Providence also plays as many big schools as possible in its non-conference schedule. CI does not and that really showed tonight. Tori definitely has some things to work on with her game but she she's only a junior. I think it's easy to forget she's a 17 year old kid because she plays with such composure.
 




What about Pressley Watkins for 2027 class? Seems to be one the Gophers should be thinking off.
 

I know this is years away; but, any chance Chloe Johnson stays home? Guessing she will have every school after her if not already.

Brooke Olson had a stellar basketball career at UMD. She was on staff with Gophers as a Graduate Manager for the 2023-2024 season. She is currently an assistant coach at UW-Stout.

I had hoped that her Duluth connections would provide a 'inside track' to recruiting Chloe Johnson.
 

Class of 2030. Maybe offered at AAU thingie in AZ this last weekend. Think Iowa coaches were there.


 

This concerns me that Minny wasn't the. first offer. Am I over reacting?

Gophers have offered her sister who is a 2027 (I want to see her a Gopher) I am guessing it's just a matter of time before she gets her offer too.

She’s in 7th grade, so no concern. Unless she’s already playing varsity, I don’t think anyone should be offering her. And I hope Iowa did it with prior consent from the parents.
 


Don't overthink being the first team to offer. Remember, Gophers were the first to offer Maddyn Greenway and that didn't make a difference.

Gophers are going after big sister, Mya, really hard, and also have been in contact with Ashlee a lot as well. The offer will for sure come, being first is not something that has to be done.
 

Seventh grade is way too early. Remember, players can change a lot in the years before they get to high school, and even while they are in high school. While many get better, some actually regress. Their skills may not increase at the same pace as others, their interests change, their competitiveness increases or declines. While it is a good idea to make contact with those players, in whatever form is now allowed by the NCAA, offers don’t have to come yet. When my daughter was being recruited 10 years ago, schools could not even contact them directly until their junior year of high school. The contact had to come through their AAU or high school coach, and then be initiated from the player to the school.
 

Take this with a grain of salt because it’s hear say and my buddy exaggerates sometimes but he has a good connection to girls high school basketball.

He is saying the Wilson family is huge Hawkeye fans and go to a ton of games during the season. He says he would “would put a ton of money on Mya going to the Hawkeyes”

He says Ashlee is a stud though and thinks she is program changing good. Thinks she has a chance go to UCONN when it’s all said and done.

The gophers are recruiting them hard though. They are my pick to win 3A state next year with BSM, Alexandria (also moving up) and Delasalle all losing so much to graduation.

Off topic but have the gophers gotten a girl from Iowa Attack AAU before? I would be surprised if the Wilson sisters, Johnson or Peterson and didn’t get Crump

I've spoken with both players and their parents a lot over the last few years. They like Iowa but they also like the Gophers A LOT. I've heard with my own ears the parents say the ideal situation would be the girls at Minnesota. Both sisters love the assistant Ariel and try to stay in contact with her as much as allowed.

During the high school season they are not going down "often" to Iowa with games and practice. I know that for a fact. They are both going to be a recruiting battle but right now I would not say that Iowa is as far ahead as described here.
 

It's amazing what the Caitlin Clark effect has had on Iowa recruiting. She was an Iowa girl that stayed home to play for the local team. And now because of her some out state girls are considering the Iowa program.

Exactly . MN has gotten some great players to stay home but we need one of the superstar WNBA talent level players to commit. Hoping Coach P will eventually get it done. Go Gophers !
