For every consecutive game you guess correctly you get a bonus. So if you're on a streak you build points faster than someone who is more hit-and-miss. For someone on a 2-game streak, they get 1 bonus point for guessing that second game correctly. For someone on a 3-game streak they get a +2 on top of the 3 points for guessing the third game correctly and so on.

Let me reiterate this way:
Guess a game right--> 1 game win streak--> +3 points to the previous total
Guess the next game--2 game win streak--> +4 points to the previous total
Guess third game right-->3 game streak--> +5 points to the previous total
Fourth game guessed right--> +6 points to the previous total
And so on...

It's an intriguing idea. The major problem I have with it is the complexity of administering it. I'm using an Excel spreadsheet, and in order to make it work, I'd have to write a set of "nested" Booleian calculations in order to calculate each week's score correctly as we get deeper into the season.

I'll noodle it over and figure out if there's a way I can make it work without spending a lot of time (and gnashing of teeth). ;) Or maybe I can short-circuit the nested formulae by setting up subordinate tables where the first table is that week's game and the second table is a "bonus" table that looks at preceding game(s).

We've got about 50 or so entries and I'd assume we might get another 20-30 by the deadline. Just keeping the "normal" scoring correct can be a PITA for me -- and the bonus concept, while intriguing, complicates the score-keeping and violates the first principle of running these things: KISS! But thanks for the idea -- like I say, I'll think some more about it and see if there's a way I can figure to do it easily.
