I’m not sure how they’d be better than the mountain west. With new members (likely mountain west, aac or other g5 teams) they’d be pretty much exactly the same as the mountain west because most of the teams come from a g5 conference.

I’m also not sure if it’s doable. But, they do have the Bay Area market and part of Seattle, and can try to add Southern Cal, Denver, and maybe some of Texas. It’s a long shot, and with $100 million and the right guy leading, it’s not impossible.
