Other Bowl Games Thread

I liked ND last night, but Georgia today. I thought the psychology of seeing the three teams with byes start bad yesterday would have Georgia focused with a night to sleep on it.

Nice intro to college football for the punter....first 2 punts of his college career and gets drilled both times. Not sure how that first one wasn't a 15 yarder.
It's basically 5 unless you hit the plant foot.

WTF!? Is ND trying to take out Georgia's punter?
If the first penalty isn't roughing the punter, I clearly don't know what is....I understand that ND didn't necessarily hit the plant foot, but the punter got destroyed (not "run into")....just seems like another instance where the refs want to take the easy way out....

lol 15 yard penalty on a student manager or something.
Player....but not dressed......hurt their chances to score a TD on the drive. If they end up winning they will laugh about it in the film session......if they lose a close game.....yeah, wouldn't want to be that kid. :)

All Sideline infractions are treated as a dead ball from the next spot.
Even if the guy who was supposed to spot it is the guy hit?

I am sure I have seen this enforced wrong before at the HS level.

the officiating has been.... not good both directions today

A team that lost 16-14 to NIU and a team that beat Kentucky 13-12 are struggling to play offense. Seems about right.

Oregon also scored 16 points at WI.

That said, both of these teams are pretty mediocre offensively in explosives, but rank quite well in efficiency. We all knew this would be a "boring" smashmouth style game

Agree. I was not impressed with ND in passing against Indiana.

that choice from kirby was an interesting one. now how many points does it cost him?

the answer is 7. 7 points. and ND will start the 2nd half with the ball

Probably should’ve put Ole Miss, bama, South Carolina, and LsU all in the playoff

We will now see if those that claimed the Georgia might be more explosive with a backup QB were correct

he's actually been quite good. Safe with the ball and making good decisions.

running a 30 second drill is a very very different ball game though. was just a dumb choice from Kirby. Don't know why you don't just go in 6-3 and be content with saying you're tied if your RB doesn't cough it up in the RZ.

My proposed version of Re-seeding after the Round of 12 would have been based on the Final Overall CFP Rankings. Even with giving Arizona St & Boise St Byes, they didn't also have to be the #3 & 4 seeds. I would have gone:

BASED ON CFP Rankings
#1 Oregon vs #12 Arizona St / Rose Bowl
#2 Georgia vs #9 Boise St / Sugar Bowl
#3 Texas vs #6 Ohio St / Peach Bowl
#4 Penn St vs #5 Notre Dame / Fiesta Bowl
Yep. Then conference championships still are important and getting the #1 seed is even more important. As it is now, there isn't much of a difference between getting the 1 through 4 seeds.
