Other Bowl Games Thread

Yep. Then conference championships still are important and getting the #1 seed is even more important. As it is now, there isn't much of a difference between getting the 1 through 4 seeds.

Agree. As it is, Penn St should be thanking their lucky stars they did NOT beat Oregon in Indianapolis. Probably are still playing because of it.

That's what the CFP should be correcting. My proposal would still also require Notre Dame to be playing in the Round of 12.

he's actually been quite good. Safe with the ball and making good decisions.

running a 30 second drill is a very very different ball game though. was just a dumb choice from Kirby. Don't know why you don't just go in 6-3 and be content with saying you're tied if your RB doesn't cough it up in the RZ.
I agree other than not having the internal clock that comes from experience

Balls have been accurate

Has held it a little too much

The Minnesota State High School League does a much better job of seeding the Basketball Tournament, than the College Football Playoff Committee did the seeding this season. The automatic top 4 seeds for conferences should be scrapped, this is really stupid. Now, get off my lawn!!

issue then is what if you have an undefeated B10 and SEC champ? going to be really tough to separate those on paper. I agree 12 and the format now leaves quite a bit to be desired, particularly in formatting

I don’t mind the top conference champs getting a bye, but there’s no way Boise was better than the ACC champ. I don’t care if Clemson had three losses.

well said. usual FR things from him for sure. can see why he was highly regarded with some splashes but this is a real fast game to step into for the first time. GAs complete inability to run the ball (and have him run it) has been brutal. Stockton has been their best offensive player so far

Notre Dame might benefit from legal booster funding more than any team in the country. They could become a perennial juggernaut.

Correct.
The fact that Texas lost twice to this team tells me Texas ain’t it either

It’s Ohio state, notre dame or Penn state

In that order

But maybe Georgia comes back to win

based on? The losses to GA, Louisville and S Carolina (2 SEC losses is good right?) or by beating SMU? They otherwise beat one team with a winning record. Would they win H2H? Maybe, but they did also give up 267 yards rushing to S Car, 210 to Ville and 170 to GA as well as 292 to TX so I'm imaging Jeanty probably would've found some room.

I agree. Just go to 16 teams.

You mean conference champions?
yes. however they want to decide who their champion is they should all be in. i get there will be blowouts, but if you're going in on the playoff idea, all should have a seat if they're in the league. Otherwise separate them.

Think Penn State would have been quite happy with a Big Ten Championship. Especially seeing as how they are still going to have to play Ohio State (probably) to win the title.

There is a strange thing that nobody cares about anything but the national title

Maybe for the helmet schools that trade off winning their conference every other year. For everyone else.....I believe conference titles are still a big deal.

The only deal
I would rather win a conference title and a horrible draw in playoff than a “good draw” and no title

All ten conference champions?
9 and yes. it's the whole point of a playoff is all teams who participate have a realistic chance to compete. Eventually there's going to be a MAC and MWC that finish undefeated (or with one loss to a P5 champ like Boise) and I'd rather see them than Bama/GA/OSU get in in perpetuity. May also lead to better talent distribution/guys staying at their schools rather than chasing money and exposure. nobody thought a 16 would beat a 1 in CBB and it happened. Same as a team that's about to be in the semifinals lost to NIU.

Otherwise no reason to expand

It's like Georgia coaches recruited receivers that looked good stepping off the bus but didn't bother checking whether they could catch.
