***OFFICIAL OREGON AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Here’s the thing for me: Gophs are a senior laden team with a host of new players. They took time to gel; not saying they will win the conference, but give coach a little credit for hanging in there and bringing them together. Outside of Garcia who will get a look at the next level, the rest are middling. Ben has them feeling good about themselves when they could have totally crumbled. That means something to me, at least these past few games. They look like a different team!

My thoughts on the game. Johnson, much maligned coach, coached a great game and had the team prepared for the game. The Gopher's never quit. They played to their strengths. I might have coached it slightly differently at the end, but I was not disappointed with how the plays were called. That might be the difference between how I see it vs. some others.
I don't see any reason to extend his contract, period. He has been inconsistent and his record is awful. Three wins, regardless of who the opponents were, is not an indication that the ship has righted itself. If we extend him, then we are condemning ourselves to more of the Richard Pitino era type of basketball.

I hate this. I'm conflicted. Are we actually playing better or is our opponent playing down to our level?
Not to hard to figure out. Garcia is playing at an all Big Ten level and the supporting cast is playing well around him. When that happens this can be a solid team that can hang with a lot of teams.

If Dawson gets hurt or has an off night.....we are in a lot of trouble....but as long as he is clicking and the rest are pitching in this team has a shot to win some games. Been a really fun stretch.

Dude...take a page from Elsa and let it go...at least for 11 more games.

Cbj is a miracle worker.

Not only are we winning but its against the teams that have tournament aspirations.

Playing spoiler isn't a good role to be in(cause it means you're out of it) but if you're gonna be in that role might as well do it well. Lets keep dinging some resumes.

Couldn't agree more....the team is playing well and winning some games.....just enjoy the friggin ride while it lasts.

Still a long way to go and more likely then not it all ends with Johnson getting fired but this is an awesome run for the program knocking off 2 really good ranked teams at home and getting a big road win over the Hawks.

I feel sorry for any Gopher fans that are so negative about the overall state of the program that they can't enjoy what is going on right now.

Thst decision doesn’t have to be made now, does it?

What’s wrong with an enjoying an unexpected winning streak for now 🤷‍♂️

Lots of BIG games to play. Pre-season I was bullish on this squad as Ben brought in a ton of lower level experience but no one that really stood out. Then add in Asuma. Guys that would develop thwir game and compliment Garcia, MM and Fox and hopefully convert their experience to become ready for the BIG level competition. That happened with Hawkins last season.

Is that what we are now seeing?

Healthy now as well. Mike Mitchell Jr being out earlier hurt some of the early season growth.

10-4 on the offensive glass was away. Oregon was one and done all day.

By the way, attendance was 11,062 according to ESPN. Barn was officially rowdy

It definitely took Hawkins and Mitchell time to figure things out last year before they started playing at a much higher level. Certainly could be some of that going on with this squad as well. May be seeing the experience starting to pay dividents as the vets on the roster are finally settling in.

The team has been working to gel. There is a always a latent period where new players need to get to know their teammates and understand their role. Here we are witnessing them beginning to gel. Is that good coaching or bad? I don't think it matters as much as you.

We have a 33% win percentage in the B1G 10. Forgive me for not doing cartwheels.
Give me USAF's losses and I bet I could get my 88-year-old mother to do a cartwheel before she is in the ground. I'm not saying she could do it independently, but George H. W. Bush sky dived as a strap on to another dude. Never say never.
