A silver lining is a positive aspect or hopeful outcome in a difficult or negative situation.

I in no way said that we were better off losing to Wichita State. My point was that our game today would at least be competitive rather than a blowout. That is the very definition of a silver lining.

I believe it is safe to say while looking for a silver lining is commendable, even noble, given the current state of affairs, I can't help but notice the bolts of lightning picking people off left and right.
